Models look lovely, quite pronounced mold lines though.
that’s what happens with plastic instead of the lord’s own material metal 😉
With the figures being CAD sculpted they have in my opinion added way too much detail.
Remember these are 10mm so mold lines will look larger in relation to the models than we might expect because the minis are a lot smaller than say 28mm minis we are all very use to looking at.
Don’t tempt me……
Was honestly tempted by it until I added it to my cart, and… £95 for the BoS box. That’s $175 CAD. No reduction in price for VAT not being applicable, apparently. £39 for shipping. ALMOST HALF THE PRICE. Plus, when it arrives, there will probably be “broker handling fees” and taxes added. Hard pass. Someone asked why GW seems invincible recently; I’ll add “free shipping” to the list of reasons. Plus simple handling of cross border transactions – GW has the logistics network to deliver by UPS with ZERO handling issues – ever. Other companies want to take a bite… Read more »
I wonder if there will be a different 2 player starter set once the other factions are out.
I would imagine they will do them as Battlegroups for individual factions + rulebooks. Maybe get another one around the focus of a “campaign” module perhaps.
Seems like a nicely balanced starter set as I would expect from warcradel
Looking good 👍
I am tempted. Did walk by the table where they had this at the expo, but didn’t pay much attention.
It looked too much like 40k for my liking, but now I’d seen the minis I dislike it less. Disappointed in small amount of buildings included and as I have nothing of that scale I’d need a fair bit to make an interesting table.
If I can find someone willing to go halves on the game then maybe, but my usual wargame adversary is not keen on the minis.
These will work great for so many of the new 10mm games on the market.
That’s a huge amount of tiny little dudes to put on the tabletop and make pew-pew and explosion noises. I’m here for it.
What a great looking starter set. Good work people. I’m very tempted.
In the process of building the Galahads as I watch this. They’re bigger than I expected. I can’t wait to get the rest built and hopefully start running some demo games 🙂
looks like a great way to start trying a game
I notice the black watch are in kilts so if a dragoon walker strides over you, don’t look up
Very interested in giving this game a try.
I do appreciate a Gerry unboxing – very in-depth so you know what you are splashing out on. That’s a well put together two player starter, the fact they’ve given you a full level of the game instead of half of what you need to actually play is particularly nice.
It looks like a good starter set, but I must admit the amount of mould lines that need to be tidied up is a bit intimidating. However, that’s nothing that can’t be taken care of and ultimately, it’s how the models look en-mass that matters, and any missed mould lines will fade away with the size of the units involved.
Lots of tiny tiny plastic in this set and it definitely calls out for contrast/speed/Xpress paints to get on the table. Not high on my list but do love the Empire faction.
The level of detail on these 10mm models is actually scary! I can’t wait to get it on to the table – then I will need some reinforcements! The Monarch Land Ship is calling already!
They’re some really nice minis, especially seeing them up close. I’d hope LWX comes out quick, and when it does they do something like Combined Arms from Warlord, where you can mix all 3 games into a campaign
So many mold lines on so many small fiddly models 🙁
I’m really looking forward to getting mine so I can start trying out the game, then I’ll wait for the Imperium starter set to make the jump to the full rules.
That looks fantastic for gaming with an the qualify of the figures are fabulous looking for their sizes👍
What a cool box
I’m intrigued to look at this game.
And a box like this would be a good one.
This is looks really good.
I’m interested in something like this in smaller scale. Get an interesting game in on smaller tables at home.
Loved epic 40k back in the day, had a lot of detail.
