Unboxing: AVP – USCM Powerloader
March 15, 2016 by dignity
Hey guys we're fighting off Aliens in this unboxing of Alien vs Predator with the USCM Powerloader from Prodos Games.
Unfortunately it's not Ripley in the suit this time but it's just as impressive and cinematic.
What do you think of the Powerloader?

“I feel like kind of a fifth wheel around here, is there anything I can do?”
“I dunno, is there anything you can do?”
“Well, I can kick the crap out of Alien queens. I have a Class 2 rating . . .” 😀
Mildly disappointed, community. 😀 I was hoping someone would reply with:
“Where do you want it?”
“HA-ha-ha . . . Bay Twelve, please.” (resumes chomping on cigar).
Aliens was released 30 years ago! Heck, I remember watching it at the cinema with chums.
“I love the core. A day in the core is like a day on the farm!” “OK people, let’s move it! Asses and elbows!”
Those were the days.
yes….. and it will be 30 years before all the Kick starter pledges arrive to their owners.
It’s a nice model of an iconic piece of equipment from the franchise.. but even though it was shoe-horned into the PC game AVP2, it feels odd to try to field it in a game like this as the use of the Powerloader was purely opportunistic. Hmm, maybe I can convince Jarek to make a version of this without a pilot so I can use it as terrain..
@siygess – Yeah I kinda get what your on about. A forklift truck is not much use in a combat zone compared to say…. a tank. And in the game the Powerloader has a flame thrower that it never had in the movie, so why does a fork lift truck have a gun?
Maybe i’m being too over analytical, it is a great model regardless.
@slygess it’s not a gun per se the ‘flamethrower’ is what is used for welding as the powerloader is not just a walking fork lift it’s a utility unit.
Being one of the backers that still received NOTHING, it really hurts to see anything on the net on AvP… 🙁
Please don’t take this in any other way than supportive, but there’s lots of talk on the topic in the forums and people are getting their kit. Isn’t it good to see the line is successful and being supported?
Honestly, I see your point but it still hurts and makes me very sad!
I got wave one stuff the other week, don’t get to miffed about it, it is on it’s way
Theres still a lot of backers who haven’t received anything, despite numerous broken promises from Prodos.
i can totally see where agis is coming froM…
We are getting more and more reports of backers having received their stuff which is good, but thats not going to help anyone still without the stuff they should have received 8 months ago (and before it went into shops might I add)
After over 2 years of you’ll get it don’t worry it starts to get irksome
painting tip for this though is don’t put the front grill on till you have finished painting the marine (Muscles Are Required Intelligence Not Essential)
Is the head on that marine miscast? The front of the helmet looks flat shouldn’t it be rounded?
Or is this what they have done to fit the canopy?
I have one of these waiting to be built – it was one of those ‘They HAVE to make a mini of that!’ requirements for the Kickstarter.
looks good.
Would be enthusiastic if I had received anything from this kickstarted pledge. Still got zip years later.
Zero, nothing, nada.
Does anyone know anything about the Unleashed version of the game? I’m looking forward to this being a wargame rather than a board game.
An impressive model. I’ve been tempted by AVP for a while now. But to be honest I’m put off by the way Prodos have treated their KS backers. I find it hard to support a company which shows such contempt for its backers; i.e. you can buy the stuff in the shops for ages now and backers who originally supported the game and helped get it off the ground are still sitting with nothing. Yes you can argue that they hit financial problems and they need to generate revenue in order to generate the rest of the Kickstarter orders and… Read more »
