Andy takes a look at the Warmachine Menoth Battlegroup
August 5, 2011 by lloyd
Join Andy as he takes a look at what's in the box of the Warmachine Protectorate of Menoth Battlegroup ... see as he explores the forces of the Iron Kingdoms mightiest and most fearsome religion... we might even see a few heretics burn!
Well maybe not...

You completely forgot to mention Kreoss’ feat, Menoth’s Rath. This is by far one of Kreoss’ best attributes as it knocks down everything in his control area. This feat can be used offensively when combined with his Purification spell for caster kills and I use it defensively to help me dig myself out of trouble. I think it is the best thing going for Kreoss.
I’m only giving people a few pointers… I’m not going to do all the work for you!
Where’s the fun in that? 😉
Hey guys, Your warmachine coverage is looking excellent. As someone who is looking around many wargames, but hasn’t tried warmachine yet I’ve found Andy to be very clear, and the rundown of abilities and tactics is presented in a way that both people who know the system and those unfamiliar can both understand. The combination unboxing/game information is great. Keep up the good work guys!
I love these very informative?
Why arent you guys showing the painted models after anymore?
Is it taking to much time paint em?
A painting tutorial on ‘jacks would be cool btw.
Am I wrong or is there a piece missing in the pack, I think about the connecting part for the legs of the Revenger.
But the video is great, makes me think about to paint the Behemoth of Khador, thats packed since I bought it 🙂
Nope… it was lurking in the bottom of the box along with the Arc Node bit… I just missed it when I was pulling the stuff out of the box.
It I only mentioned the Arc Node as it’s pretty important, I didn’t think people wanted to know about the pelvis of the ‘jack… it holds the legs to the body… so you can’t miss it.
OK now I’m allright again, never had a part missing in a Privateer box 🙂
Any chance of a battle report – a small one between two of the battlesets would be fine to show the game mechanics …….
YES, battle report would be great!
Hell Yes!
Hey Andy – any chance of a vid about the fluff behind the game? I now it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I like all the work GW put into the worlds/races.
Yep… might make for a decent video… I’ll see if I can pin Warren down and we’ll have an on-camera chat about it. He’s our resident fluff-junkie! 😉
I’ve been trying to decide which of plastic battleboxes to grab so I can see and feel the new plastics personally, but I play Cygnar, Menoth and Cryx. Hopefully these videos will help me choose. So far I’m really like the Cygnar box as a whole, but Kreoss looks incredible.
Keep up the WM/H exposure BoW! I hope by the time Wrath comes around we’ll get an entire week devoted to it. Er.. also request for some Legion and Circle unboxings?
I’m thinking of starting warmachine thanks to these vids. If i had two battle groups, what size playing area would i need ?
Usually a 2′ x 2′ board is used for battlebox games, but I’d suggest getting a 4′ x 4′ board and marking off 2′ x 2′ for your first few games, because you will want to expand your armies. :p
Really nice video, you were fine talking about it on your own (doing warren out of a job perhaps)… Warmachine has always been a bit of an odd one for me, I bought the core rules and a Khador starter set when they were first released but really none of my friends were interested in starting a new game. I found the background very interesting but then hit a snag of my own when I realised I tended to preffer the Jacks from one nation, the infantry from another, and the casters from a 3rd. There is however more than… Read more »
Where have you been hiding Andy? You’re a great addition to the BoW team…and as mentioned above, doing a fantastic job without Warren hovering over you like a hovering thing :p
Keep up the good work 🙂
Menoth sounds a lot like The Daemon Hunters/Witch Hunters from Warhammer 40K but some fairly nice minis
Does the battle group come with templates?
i like the theme and everything of this army but i dislike the look of the ‘jacks. These Models might make good conversion pieces for 40K Daemon/Witch hunters and WHFB armies
Thanks from reuploading also this one.
