Wonderlands’ Mauser Earth Project Back On Kickstarter
February 16, 2017 by brennon
The Wonderlands Project team are back on Kickstarter looking to bring their Mauser Earth: War For Paris game to the tabletop. The game features 54mm scale Pulpy Steampunk models which look fantastic...
The game features four factions at present with three of them fully detailed already. The fourth, the Pacific Empire, are still in the works with concept art and a few models taking shape.
The Atlantic Alliance feature some of Lloyd and Justin's favourite models, those being the big clanking robots with such a wonderful design aesthetic to them. They have an edge of the Sci-Fi about them which is neat.
The Reich have taken the strange and weird German look from World War II and added their own spin. Yes, we still have the freaky scientists but some strange creations like their Weredogs and the mutated soldiers.
Possibly my favourite factions are the TheoSoviets...
They have a rather awesome look to them and I like that the faction contains more female characters. The Pacific Empire are shaping up nicely as mentioned above and here's a look at the concept art for them...
You can find out more about their progress and the game mechanics themselves over on the Kickstarter page linked above. There's a full rundown of the way it all comes together on the battlefield.
Do you think the 54mm scale is still a problem?

That robot is amazing.
the dog soldiers look great.
Yes they are great but it would have been better to paint the brown and white one with the tan and black of a Doberman/german pinscher/rottweiler markings rather than a german pointer.
the tan/white dog looks like a staffy to me.
yes me too, but “Staffordshire bull terrier” hardly screams “German” does it 🙂
nope.
I’d convert one into a Welsh Corgi Pembroke, and the other into a Jack Russel. But that’s just me.
Or, since they’re germans, maybe a Pomeranian ?
will be hard to get into a handbag but Romain?
Actually the size is closer to 50mm wich make miniatures close to the 1/35 scale. That way you can easily use 1/35 WWII model kits for you scenery. And tamiya has a lot of them: destroyed walls, weapon crates, sand bags, tanks, crashed airplane …
I backed for the first one. I like it. Will use some for K47
They all look splendid. I really like that two models seem to be Canadians. The female captain Canada and the mountie. You don’t see Canadians highlighted often in games.
I know I love it. After all Canadians are awesome. 🙂
Your awesome as well mate 😉
The scale is definitely not an issue for me ! I think people are less afraid of it, even though it’s still the “outsider” scale. It’s not any harder to paint than one of GW’s big demons, or the recent dark eldar box. SMOG did have some success, and they opened up the way for crowdfunding campaigns for DuelMasters and Scale 75 (the very name implies 75mm)… I think that with the spread of airbrush use and the multiplication of available painting tutorials, people are less intimidated by what would have been called “display pieces”. I still remember a time… Read more »
Some very nice sculpts, not sold on the soviets though bit too bombshell babe-esque for my taste. 54mm scale makes great minis for painting but like inquistor the big issue is scenary when it comes to gaming.
I think I’ll stick with Konflikt 47 but maybe grab cpt canada to paint.
The Reich look amazing. Dog soldiers are brilliant
Those do look both very interesting as well as very nice.
Beautiful miniatures. This will be my first foray into 54mm.
