Get A Headstart In DUST Tactics Early Next Year
November 20, 2013 by brennon
If you have been pondering and hesitating on the edge before diving into DUST Tactics then it's going to become a lot easier to do so come the beginning of 2014. Battlefront have bought together some awesome looking boxed sets that will get you playing the game in no time.
According to the website each of these sets allows you to get started practically right out of the box providing you with a small army to take to the tabletop. As well as the models they are also going to come with terrain, battle mats, and objectives as well as faction specific dice. A pretty awesome entry level leap into DUST it seems.
So if you were wavering about getting into Weird World War this might just be the push you need.
Will you be doing some DUST'ing?

Dont forget warfare battlefront .. rewamp and re-release, plz
I second that, give Warfare some love !
These look good. If the price is right I’ll bite. But it’ll be for Warfare not Tactics. Tactics is OK, but only OK. Dead zone makes a better fist of the crossover board game style of play IMHO.
So far I’ve been playing Warfare using proxy AT-43 models, but this could tip me over into buying if it gives good value. I’m a sucker for faction dice though and the extra gubbins like objective markers if they are good quality, so that sounds nice!
I like the idea of alt history WWII, but this whole DUST lineup is so confusing I’ve kept away from all of it.
– I don’t want a boardgame
– I don’t want pre-painted minis
– I don’t want sub-standard minis (aka boardgame pieces)
– I want to integrate my existing 28mm WWII minis into the game
Is DUST for me at all? If so, which version? I haven’t been able to find the answer.
– DUST line of minis can be used with either the boardgame or the tabletop strategy (for which there is a separate rulebook)
– minis are not prepainted, just “pre-undercovered”
– they’re not substandard, but really quite nice
– you can freely use it with your WW2 minis, just probably not in the official setting/game. For this I’d recommend Secrets of the Third Reich.
You’ll decide if DUST mins are for you at all, but there really aren’t any “versions” – it’s either the boardgame, the tabletop strategy or just using the minis for something else.
So there’s a boardgame and a tabletop game? That’s just what I mean.
Maybe I should get a couple of packs to see what they are like. I’m not entirely sold on the pre-undercover thing. I remember when Prince August sold their LotR figures with the undercoat applied (maybe they still do)… I was thinking “this is the stupidest idea ever, I still need to clean the mold lines, scrape the undercoat off while doing that and then re-undercoat”.
Also, the boxes are priced at 50$. A good price for everything included, I think …
