Konflikt ’47 US & German Starter Set Contents Revealed
July 13, 2016 by brennon
You might remember that we took a look at the teaser cover for Konflikt '47 a few weeks ago from Warlord Games and Clockwork Goblin. Well, now the full cover has been revealed and we've got a look inside the boxed sets for both the US and the Germans so you can plan out that new force you've been working on...
Pre-orders are now open for you to go and pick up both the rulebook and the two Starter Sets. New units are going to be joining the existing Bolt Action range giving it that Weird World War spice that you've been looking for on the tabletop.
US Army
We'll first take a look at the US Starter Army which comes chock-a-block with all kinds of new toys.
As you can see it comes with all the things that you'll need to get started in the game as well as the models. With that in mind let's take a look at said models. Here's the rather epic M4A9 Sherman-T Medium Tank.
It has gone with the old school chassis mixed with a modern turret which is all about that energy blasting holes through armour. The US also come with a big walker called the Coyote.
I do really like the American walkers. The design is great; the casing for the pilot being a fantastic shell. The weapon arms look neat and dangerous too which is always good. The Americans also have Heavy Infantry taking the fight to the Germans on an Infantry level.
When you can arm your soldiers with big guns like that you won't have much of a problem pinning down the enemy troops. Now they all just need cigars in their mouths so they can blast away the enemy and look cool at the same time.
German Army
Following on from the US we also have the German Army which has started to dabble within the world of the weird in different ways.
First off, instead of looking at the armour, I want to take a look at the Totenkorps which are shambling zombies surging forward to swarm your lines. I doubt pinning works very well against them...
It wouldn't be Weird World War however without the addition of some Walkers and the Germans have that too in the form of the Spinne Light Panzermech.
More of a moving gun turret than a walker it doesn't have the same appeal to me as the US Coyote but I think that the design is great and to see a few of these on the battlefield hosing down the enemy lines would be terrific.
They also have the crazy looking Pz IV-X Schewere Feldprojektor which is something else entirely!
It's going to be interesting seeing where the game goes and I'd love to see them put together a battle report or something of that ilk so that people can get a handle on the new rules and how it all works. With a basis in Bolt Action though it should be very simple to get into.
What do you think of the sets?

Really not sold on the Americans so far but the Germans are looking fantastic.
I think I’m just bored of the way Americans look not a fan of just making some really bulky troopers to represent an increase in tech. Really don’t like the walker for the Americans either.
I agree about the American Infantry but I thought the walker and tank look pretty cool. As to the Germans, the Zombie things is getting a bit tired and their walker looks like an egg with spider feet. The tank is unique though.
Nazi Zombies, and zombies in general, have “outlived” their welcome in film and pop culture, but I think it works well in this game/universe. It’s deliberately silly, a nod to B-movies, which I like but understand others won’t.
However, nothing really sells me on this game. Maybe when we see Brits and Soviets…
Yeah definitely, always seems to be Germans with zombies and the occult with weird world war, I mean I get it but would be nice for something new. I really like the sculpts of the German zombie things.
The German crawler walker is exactly what I’d want from weird world war something outlandish and sci fi, whereas the American one for me is just too pod like, I get the design and understand it’s supposed to represent the next step in terms of the timeline but just Dosent do it for me.
Zombies will have outlived their welcome when they stop selling. No sign of that yet.
…APE suits from SotTR.
Thought same thing, and the zombies….
Definitely looking forward to using my dust figs in a more solid gaming system, and one from a company with less drama.
If they keep the rather generic Bolt Action stats (medium walker with medium anti tank gun, HMG, and MMG) should be hard to use the dust figs.
Wooow love all the USA models!! Walker is very nice, and I like that bulky infantry. More money spend in that company jejej
I guess this will be a good alternative to Dust for people.
$112.00 for a starter set… I might be willing to shell that out for a two player starter but not for a single army starter.
Tickles my Dust-fancy.
I sort of agree on the bulking up, yet this is where the military is going. Look at Redcoat equipment and compare it to modern soldiers: body armour, kevlar, backpacks and kit… it all makes for bigger troops.
Arguably there will be a point when we get smaller kit through miniaturisation yet we’d then have an arms race for powerpacks until the next revolution of static electricity generation and so on.
And hey! Tanks!
Warlord did a fine job of taking the core of Bolt Action into a Sci Fi setting with Gates of Antares. I’m looking forward to seeing the Pulp treatment.
And I’m just fine with bulky specialized troops for the USA. You krauts can keep your rotting, reanimated corpses.
I think this ruleset is going to be perfect for doing the Tiberium Wars!
I’m going to see how many of my friends want to go in with me ,we already play Dust so I’m wondering if this will add to it or compete with it?
I’ve ordered this as soon as I saw it was out. Bolt action and BtgoA are winners for me and, as others have mentioned, no reputation/ logistic issues. I must say that Warlord Games are, imho, the premier go-to games company.
very C&C looking to me, in a good way.
Anchorage… Great War… USvsChina… Liberty prime… Fallout prequel 🙂
Are those American heavy infantry wearing flared power armour?. How do they come up with these crazy ideas!
Kinda reminds me of Wolfenstein The New Order (great game btw).
The thing with soldiers and miniaturization is, if given the choice between less kit at slighter lower weight, or more kit at the same weight, most will choose the latter.
If they made grenades half as big, most soldiers would just opt to carry twice as many.
While carrying heavy kits a pain, most soldiers would rather carry the extra kit that *might* save their life.
Those surely are nice. That American walker reminds me about Wolverine from CnC Tiberian Sun.
I must say like some have mentioned above, the occult being with the Axis forces is growing old. I know it’s gowned in the idea that the axis is evil and the allies are good. We never want to paint our men and women that served in a bad light, so we make the foe that. It’s in our nature and avoids unnecessary conflict and bad PR with real world vets and loved ones that have a positive view of our side of that conflict. Rather I would like this game and others like it to have our side have… Read more »
I wouldn’t mind seeing some US militarian zombies as well
I wouldn’t mind seeing some US militarian zombies as well.
I wouldn’t mind purchasing the totenkorps as a stand alone set. German Zombies are always a great kind of awesome!!!
Liking the look of these and as a Dust player, the prices are much more competitive. does anyone know which other forces they are bringing in?
