Hysterical’s Panzerfauste Shows Off British Orcs & Kickstarter Plans
September 17, 2015 by brennon
Hysterical Games have been showing off a lot of renders for their upcoming game with a Weird World War twist, Panzerfauste. Now however they have some models for us all to gawk at! See what you think of these British Orc Troops which seem extremely high detail...
As you can see the quality is pretty top notch and they've managed to create some great poses with these kits too. This forms the basis of a basic pledge in their upcoming Kickstarter which should launch this Autumn.
The idea is to focus on creating five factions for the game which play at both a small skirmish and larger platoon level. The factions are the Orcs, Dwarves, Gnomes, Troglodytes and one as yet unknown army.
Each faction will get a set of basic infantry, infantry commanders, support weapons, a 'brute', tank, and finally something more specialised like Commandos which you can see above.
Thankfully Hysterical are working with Prodos to get a lot of these miniatures sorted BEFORE the campaign begins so you have some great miniatures to look at and you'll know what you're getting.
I think it's a good idea to have two entry points into the game allowing you to get a feel for the mechanics and the game before you get any further into it.
What do you think of their plans?

nice.
Is that a .306 Enfield?
Looks more like a 303 The 306 had a longer barrel extending over the stock. The butt was different as well
Yes, it’s a 303. 🙂
So the Orcs are the British Isles, the Dwarves the Germans, French Gnome (really like those for some reason), and the Poles are represented by Troglodytes. Now I’m just insanely curious as to what the Americans, Italians, Soviets, and Japanese will be. American Elves maybe?
Pre-soviets I think. It’s WW1 era so Russians, Austrians, Ottomans (hope they’re included!), American and British Empire (ANZAC, Indian Raj etc.). A lot of scope for some great models!
Opps! Italians too. Plus others I’m sure!
Yeah, it’s a blend of early-mid 20th century warfare, with a heavy focus on WW2. There will be hints of WW1 and everything in between here and there too.
Wait and see… 🙂
There’s Light Elves, Ratmen, Dark Elves, Goblins and loads more to come in the future! Not telling you who is what just yet, but fans of the original Panzerfauste will know the answers to most of those! Right now we’re focusing on 2 or 3 Operations in the first theatre of battle in the Great Dwarven War. There will be more stuff eventually, but hey, we’ve got years to play with and we are in no rush. 🙂
I would love to see what country gets Ratmen… I’ve always loved Rat anthro models
Well I have a secret weapon; a wife who played the original game! And while she didn’t reveal all the races to me, she did let slip she played the Soviet Dark Elves. So I know one faction now! :p But lighthearted teasing aside, the more I read about this game the more interesting it gets. I will hopefully have funds to support the Kickstarter when it goes live. I’ve always had a soft spot for the French in the historic period, feeling they got an unfair rap (much like the Sherman tank did), so will almost certainly be picking… Read more »
“Well I have a secret weapon; a wife who played the original game!”
A woman with fine taste sir…
The Model above is carrying been gun so more likely to be WW2 based. I am sure the original game by Wessex Games was WW2 as well
I love the round drum Tommy Gun the Sgt has, it looks ‘orcy’.
Also yes looks more WW2 to me. It would have been a Lewis Gun as the LMG if it was (I’m generalising abit)
Yeah, we would have gone with a Lewis Gun if it was WW1. Who knows, maybe some of the other units could be kitted out like that…
Well you could do a Vickers K gun…. That would look great at that has a top loaded ammo magazine and used in WW2
The Ork with the Bren gun is awesome!
uhhm is it just me or does the female dwarf with the frying pan resemble a certain maggie thatcher
Hahahahahaha not intentional at all! She is meant to look a bit like a character from ‘Allo ‘Allo… 🙂
BRING HIM IN HERE!!!
Rob and Helga sitting in a tree…
Do you think these will be legal for Bolt action??
I’m not a BtA player, but the units are generally loaded out with ‘Historically’ accurate weapons, so I am sure could be used in other WW2 games.
Though our games are gonna be great! 🙂
I am looking forward to it. Steve Blease is a God!
I told my wife that. She laughed…
If that if you Mr Blease then welcome. I have enjoyed many of your games starting with Aeronef which seems a long long time ago now
Actually I think I still have a copy of Hellfire knocking about
It is. Thank you for your support. Got a good feeling about Panzerfäuste redux! 🙂
Oops I meant that last bit to be typed internally
These minis have me excited eventhough I really don’t need yet another game.
Look into my eyes… This is the game you have been looking for…
The Orc commando’s look insanely good. Cant wait for the kickstarter to start kicking!
They hit the ball out of the park with them commandos!
I really like the look of those Orcs, it’s a damn shame that they got the Prodos KS warning sign attached to them.
This is not a Prodos KS. They have provided models for Wolsung SSG, Kings of War, Demigods Rising Evolution, White Dragon Miniatures, Norsgard KS’s so not sure why ours should be any different…
Who is the major owner of HystericalGames?
It is a Prodos venture.
Rob is Prodos and he’s the director of this company so it’s Prodos (result of a quick company search)
Was the same as the Devils run Game but I understand Mark has now cut all ties with Prodos.
I like what I see but you are not going to convince me to back another kickstarter linked to Prodos. Who FYI seem to now be sending out the new “retail” version to kickstarter backers!
And that’s the truth!
Well as the “other partner” I can assure you it isn’t but you will believe what you wish to believe. Yes Rob is a director but this role is one he does in his own free time when he is not doing his day job working for Prodos.
We are using Prodos as other companies have, the KS will be a HG one…
“Rob is Prodos and he’s the director of this company so it’s Prodos”
Well I’m a director too, I do not work for Prodos. People do have more than one job for more than one employer…
If the logic of who the directors have their day jobs with applies, this venture is that of a massive multi-national insurance company! 🙂
“Who FYI seem to now be sending out the new “retail” version to kickstarter backers!”
Not sure what that means? If is something to do with AvP, well, I’m still waiting for mine…
It will be very excited to see how many backers prodos had burned with their last KS and how stron it influences this KS… I will back it with some caution, but wont go high. I dont have any bad experience with Prodos and a friend of mine doing buisness with them was also happy with the casting Quality and the time schedule of the delivering. My concerns are more from the casting aspect as nearly all KS-minis of Warzone were resculpt for a reduced number of parts for easier glueing and casting… I hope they have learned to plan… Read more »
great figures cant wait for kickstart to come have the first game always like it.
