Warmachine: Tactics Gets New Patch To Enhance Play
November 5, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
If you've been playing Warmachine: Tactics in the past, you have probably already noticed the fantastic improvements with the recent 4.9 patch integration in October. If you've never tried the game, then now's the perfect time! The latest patch has brought all sorts of great upgrades and fixes to the table, including game play on older machines.
Visual cues have been an awesome improvement in Tactics, with the Scenario flags having updated artwork and VFX to more clearly indicate when a zone is neutral, contested or under a faction’s control. When under faction control, the flag will change to that faction’s logo. There are also wreck markers included along with better visual aspects in general to both enhance your game play and make it easier to follow what's going on in the game.
Do you play the Retribution of Scyrah? The Chimera Warjack and Halberdier have been added FOR FREE with the patch! What's not to love about that?
With all the new enhancements, Whitemoon Dreams has also put together a helpful set of instructions for improving your game on a 32 bit system:
- Bring up the start menu.
- Type CMD in the search bar.
- Right click on the CMD.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
- In the Console type "BCDEDIT.EXE /SET INCREASEUSERVA 3072" and press enter.
- Restart computer.
- They promise more good stuff coming to the Tactics universe in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Have you played Warmachine Tactics with the recent patch?

Well, I own a copy and am still not very fond of the game. Why is it that my jacks begin to face backwards after some turn? Although the marker points into the direction it want it to? And more often than not the cursor wont hit the spot I want it to, thats something that should be a provlem of the past. Even a homebrewed pygame does this more reliable…
All in all I still think this game is much to buggy to be even called a beta… 🙁
sweet time to download update
That’s a significant and disconcerting thing to be changing. The game is trying to write directly to a protected part of the OS.
A game should call the APIs designed for it – DirectX, I would imagine. Not muck about with system files.
I like this game a lot, although still runs quite slowly for me. It is so tactical and even though it has its bugs still, there’s a lot of enjoyment to be had.
The poor performance and truly clunky interface sapped all enjoyment from this game for me. Interested to see if the recent patches have a significant impact in resolving these issues.
