The Ghosts Of Ios & Mighty Mastodon Do Battle In Warmachine
April 29, 2024 by brennon
Privateer Press has been showing off some more awesome releases for Warmachine that you can scoop up on their webstore. Dusk House Kallyss, the Khymaera and Khador are all getting something awesome!
Ghosts Of Ios // Warmachine
The Ghosts Of Ios lead the way with their leader, Morayne, the Blade Of Twilight. These are a band of refugee mage hunters who have devoted themselves to the protection of all living Iosans according to Privateer Press. These warriors work on the fringes of the Empire of Eternal Dusk and work to preserve something of the Retribution Of Scyrah's power.
Morayne, Blade Of Twilight // Warmachine
Morayne has an awesome look that keeps her that slight step apart from the rest of the new Dusk House Kallyss range and Retribution Of Scyrah of old. I really like the posing for the miniature as well as she gets ready to swipe at her enemies.
You also have the mighty Specter which acts as a brilliant guardian. This Light Warjack looks absolutely awesome.
Specter // Warmachine
The set features Morayne as mentioned above alongside Specter, the Light Warjack. There are also the Mage Hunter Assassins and the Mage Hunter Rangers. You've also got a Mage Hunter Sniper Team and the Mage Hunter Commander. Capping things off, there is also Vaelyss, the Hand of Mourning.
If you get yourself in on the pre-order for The Ghosts Of Ios then you can also get the Variant Mage Hunter Commander for free. The miniature is also available separately.
Mage Hunter Commander // Warmachine
Some stunning new miniatures for The Ghosts Of Ios that could be used as allies alongside Dusk House Kallyss. I really like the way that Privateer Press has been developing and evolving some familiar factions in Warmachine for the new edition of the game.
A Khymaera Cadre
As well as the new miniatures for the Ghosts Of Ios, there is also this set of new miniatures for the Shard Incarnates.
Shard Incarnates Cadre // Warmachine
This vanguard force smashes forward through ranks of enemy troops so that the main force of Khymaera can come in behind and do their evil deeds. This force represents a whole lot of martial might but also some arcane mastery as well, looking to aid your troops in their assault.
Kyrrax, The Relenting Night // Warmachine
One of the mightiest additions to this faction is Kyrrax, the Unrelenting Night who is clad in heavy armour. You can see him thundering, using his shield to fling aside enemies before plunging in with that deadly voulge.
He is backed up by the equally mighty Drakyon who is armed with four clawed limbs that could tear apart whatever ends up getting in its way.
Drakyon // Warmachine
The rib-like armour on the miniature looks fantastic and once again, I think the fusing of the organic and the synthetic in the miniature is a nice touch. It really helps to nail that Tech-Fantasy vibe that you sometimes get with the miniatures for Warmachine.
The set features Kyrrax, the Unrelenting Night, three Incarnate Knights and the Incarnate Conjuror. You also have Drakyon as mentioned above who is a Heavy Warbeast, backing up all of your troops.
Mighty Mastodon
Finishing things off for this preview, there is also the massive Mastodon which is one of the new Colossals for Warmachine and the new edition of the game.
Mastodon // Warmachine
We saw one of these last week for the forces of Orgoth but now the Mastodon steps into the ring as a proper clanking powerhouse. The Mastodon is a walking gun platform with heavy mortars and a suite of support weapons. It is the next evolution of the Khador Warjack where bigger is better in every way. I don't imagine there is a foe on the battlefield that could end up standing up against this.
What do you make of the Mastodon and the rest of these new miniatures for Warmachine?
