Privateer’s Retribution Ride To War On The Dawnguard Trident
November 8, 2018 by brennon
Privateer Press has opened up pre-orders for another of their Black Anchor creations, the Dawnguard Trident for the Retribution Of Scyrah in Warmachine.
"Built expressly to serve as an armoured assault platform for the Dawnguard, the Trident unleashes a blistering barrage of fire. Utilizing advanced gravity-mitigating fields first developed by House Shyeel allies, the arcanist guiding the Trident can impel it forward at great speed, also accelerating accompanying myrmidons or warcasters, before delivering its weight with ramming force. It follows this crushing assault with an onslaught of its primary weaponry—a trio of heavy thresher cannons, each crewed by an expert gunner."
It looks like something that the Aeldari would use in battle more than something you'd expect to see in Warmachine. I know that they have some rather 'alien' looking technology as part of their faction, obviously backed up by a mix of magic and science, but this just looks a bit too Sci-Fi for my liking.
When it comes to gameplay it's obviously going to be something you throw into the action pretty quickly and those thresher cannons can do a lot of damage so Privateer Press suggest mixing it with some range-focused Warcasters like Ravyn, Eternal Light and Lord Arcanist Ossyan.
What do you think of the Dawnguard Trident?
"...those thresher cannons can do a lot of damage so Privateer Press suggest mixing it with some range-focused Warcasters"
That is great looking Battle Engine but I do wonder if it fits setting that well since it looks more sci-fi than steampunk fantasy.
Reminds me of an old Visionaries toy from the 80s
Some more pictures would be good to see the shape better.
Although I am an avid Warma/hordes supporter, this release will only get one reaction from me …… “BAH ELVES!!!!_”
I wonder how long I can keep this news from my wife. This is her faction and I know I’ll have to fork over the greenbacks to buy this for her as soon and she knows about it.
I’m pretty sure that if she doesn’t already know, she will shortly. You might as well brace for it and this may be your Christmas present to her.
Almost like something for the Concord in Gates of Antares? Very Sci-Fi indeed.
