Templecon 2014 Iron Gauntlet Qualifier Final
Sunday also sees the TempleCon 2014 Iron Gauntlet Qualifier Final so if you're interested in Warmachine and Hordes you have a full weekend ahead of you.
So some of the details:-
Warmachine: Tactics going well - 50% through their development cycle.
Iron Kingdoms: Unleashed - A New RP System for fighting in the wilds.
New Hordes book, Exigence - New Warcasters, new Warbeasts, Warbeast Packs (Lesser Warbeasts in units) coming late 2014.
Level 7 [Invasion] - looks like it could be a RISK like game.
New Warmachine Mercenary Faction, Cephalyx - A massive amount of deadly Monstrosities with buckets of health, low armour, low defence but tanking to the extreme. Some mind bending and mind altering Warcasters able to heal their own units and control others. Uses friendly models as powerful arc nodes but kills them in the process.

The Cephalyx, huh? I always liked those guys and used them as the ‘boogeymen’ of my D20 Iron Kingdoms campaign. They also feature (to some degree) in the IKRPG introductory adventure I’m working on..
Gief Cephalyx Plz
Exigence is the next Hordes expansion book. It will contain: lesser warlocks for each faction. The circle character is a female falconer while the troll is a male blacksmith. Warbeast units for some factions (no warbeast pack for trollbloods was confirmed) Female warlocks for minions. The Farrow is Helga the Conqueror who resembles a fat opera Valkyrie. The gatorwoman controls an undead snake. Two minion battle engines, one for each pact A character Nephilim heavy warbeast for Legion Epic Xerxis riding a rhino. Presumably on a 120mm base. A new IKRPG book for the wilds. It seems to cover hordes… Read more »
Yeah the Skorne, along with Rhul, Ios, and Cryx will be in the book after.
Dod they give a time frame for the new book releases for IKRPG?
The new Hordes faction will most likely come out at the 10th anniversary, just like for Warmachine.
At least that’s what was said last year.
Cephalyx. Now there’s a bandwagon I’ll be jumping all over. Well played PP!
Many of us already play mercenaries, so it will be a comfortably small leap depending on what the contract allows.
It might be an easier step from Cryx than Mercenaries.
Can’t wait to see the Cephalyx in action! I had heard rumours ages ago of them becoming a faction on their own.
Cephalyx look good! Sorry Cryx, I’m getting ’em instead.
I really like idea of warbeast packs and those also make sense. So Xerxis got badly wounded just like Karchev and had to find new way to fight so he chose to go to battle with style by riding rhino. That female falconer lesser warlock for Circle does look great.
After watching all the videos many times this weekend Im loving the bits.
Warbeast units – yes pelase!!
Special character beast with 2 affinities depending on the lock – nice
Junior warlocks – look amazing
Minion battle engines – full of flavour
New merc faction – looks full of flavour, ideas and fun
All in a good year ahead.
