Pre-Order New Two-Player Starter Set For Warmachine!
September 30, 2024 by brennon
Steamforged Games are now taking pre-orders for the new Two-Player Starter Set for Warmachine! This will work as a great starting point for those diving into the world of Immoren and the Iron Kingdoms as either Khador or Cygnar.
Two-Player Starter Set // Warmachine
This set gives you a whole bunch of awesome HIPS (plastic) miniatures! On the one side, you have the science and technology of Cygnar and on the other, you have the militaristic tradition of Khador.
Allister Caine // Warmachine
Bastion Falk // Warmachine
Black 13th // Warmachine
Deuce Warjack // Warmachine
Cygnar Group // Warmachine
Inside the set, the Cygnar side gets Major Allister Caine who acts as your Warcaster (leader) alongside Deuce, a Character Warjack. They are backed up by Captain Bastian Falk and The Black 13th, a named unit of gunslingers.
Zahara Vilkhul // Warmachine
Goran Lazarenko // Warmachine
The Hounds // Warmachine
Razor Warjack // Warmachine
Khador Group // Warmachine
Khador gets to do battle with Kapitan Zahara Vilkul the Warcaster who comes backed up by the Character Warjack, Razor. Sergeant Goran Lazarenko, The Jackal backs up your Warcaster and you also have the named unit, The Hounds.
It's a seriously cool set with a bunch of very characterful miniatures. Not pictured above, you also get a bunch of Scatter Terrain for decorating your battlefields in the form of four Walls and two Shallow Water/Hazards.
Grab yourself the Warmachine App for the rules and cards and you're good to go! The set is available to pre-order right now ahead of a release in November.
Will you be snapping up this set?

Very tempting…
Oofff. Very tempting indeed! The sculpts are amazing: very dynamic. Especially the rocket coming out of the launcher is absolute ace.
It does look a nice starter set. I already have a Cygnar army, but my friend used to Khador.
Prefer to have a printed rulebook, but I will look at the app and see if it’s anygood.
Iron Kingdoms is a more pleasant world to war over than anything GW created.
Does anyone know if you can get a pdf of the MK IV rule?
So the rule book can be printed off and so can the cards from the desktop app
Nah. I don’t think so. Nice looking minis but I just can’t bring myself to get into another 28mm game.
Reminds me that I have a boatload of Cygnar & Mercs that could do with a refresh….
To be honest WM has never really interested me much but it seems strange to me that even on the website their isn’t a pic of the whole box contents…almost like they think it doesn’t matter.
Very cynical! Isn’t it more likely that they don’t have a picture of it?
Maybe the painted pieces are delayed or lost in the post, these things happen.
Maybe it is a bit cynical and maybe the pics / pieces are delayed but they could have put a little message in the listing. Afterall, you only get one chance to make a first impression.
This is the size of forces that the game originally started with. Now if they could just get the price down AND prevent the bloat that choked me out of the game.
