Something that could be mentioned when selecting magnets is the magnetic grade, or N rating. The higher the number, the stronger the magnet (but higher N grades tend to be more brittle however with this application, I doubt that matters).

It can actually matter as in this application you might change the arms/heads/etc often enough that the magnets hit each other fairly often, when you combine them. Which can demage them. Because of that it can be smart for the stronger magnets to be completely engulfed in green stuff to protect them from hitting each. It also reduces the magnets strength if it is to strong as a nice side effect.
But generally it is often better to get weaker magnets (but better resistance) and combine them to get stronger magnetic effects.
