Privateer Press Lock & Load Keynote Available & A Catch-Up!
July 19, 2017 by brennon
Privateer Press, if it potentially escaped your notice, ran their Lock & Load event over the past weekend and the keynote speech has now been uploaded to Youtube for you to indulge in. Check it out above...
One of the big things that came out of the Lock & Load Keynote was the announcement of the Minicrate concept that Privateer Press will be rolling out. I should note all images are from Advanced Maneuvers and you should really check out their Facebook Page for more!
Minicrate
Minicrate is effectively going to become a monthly subscription box from Privateer Press which will give you access to a limited edition miniature as well as collector's card and concept art.
We got a look at some of the miniatures that will be available over the coming months and they are looking rather awesome.
Each of the models draws on concepts and ideas from the world of Warmahordes and gives you something very cool to paint up away from your standard army figures.
It's a neat idea and allows the Privateer crew to explore different characters and concepts, as well as provide you with fun updates on existing models with a new spin. More world building exploration of concepts away from the direct confrontation and warfare of Warmahordes sounds good to me.
New Miniatures
Of course, the Keynote also featured a range of neat new models too including some from the Northkin that we talked about on last weekend's Weekender show.
Beyond that, though we also have some great miniatures and I picked out some of my favourites.
It seems like I tend to veer towards some cool monsters and more from the world of Hordes. I mean, who could turn down that awesome Blindwater Dracodile?
One of the big models to get loads of attention was Blackfleet Ghost Ship and Skarre3. A big ghost ship sounds like just what you need to drop into your games.
As I mentioned above, these screen grabs came from the folks at Advanced Maneuvers so if you'd like to see more of what was on show away from the video and get some more thoughts on Lock & Load make sure to check them out.
Are you interested in the prospect of this Minicrate program and the future of Warmachine & Hordes?

A lot of intersting material here. I spent a better part of the weekend (it was an away weekend, and as boring as 4%$4) watching the lock and load coverage. I love the concept of theme forces and where they re going with them. A lot of the new models are brilliant and unfortunately for me, they have shown theme forces for Cryx and Everblight that actually hold some appeal. Also they had the hint of a new faction twice in the presentation, the Crucible Guard, which may possibly be linked to Lahel given their distaste for Khador …. but… Read more »
Fantastic presentation and really stoked for the coming year. Theme forces and company f iron are all breeds of wallet worrying.
The sculpting standard is fantastic, and Man’o’war theme is just amazing.
Overall though it’s the new no quarter format that sounds the most exciting to me
Yes No Quarter Prime has my interest too …. I even subscribed (unheard of) . You must like the look of the heavily armoured Khadorans, I’d say their theme force must be the one out after the Everblight Ogrun
I will be subscribing, man’o’war theme does appeal bit so does the rumoured greylord/doomreaver theme list. Already have 2 units of shock troops. If the make bombardiers rock then I will be getting some. Was about to grab demo corp when 3rd nerfed them to crap.
Being truthful it all appeals, the gator stuff is stunning. Northkin and the new troll heavy I think will eventually guide my troll force.
