Join Skarre As Admiral Of The Black Fleet With New Privateer Pre-Order
February 13, 2018 by brennon
A massive new model has been thrown into the mix for Privateer Press' Warmachine. Here we have the massive Skarre, Admiral of the Black Fleet which is more diorama and terrain piece than model!
"Perched on the shattered timbers of her ghost ship, Skarre Ravenmane brings ruin to the mainland, the thudding of her iron cannons beating out a rhythm of war wherever she travels. She chooses companions aboard her funeral ship from the most accomplished Satyxis reavers, sending them into masses of infantry to claim a plunder of fresh blood.
The ghostly chariot she rides was once the wreckage of a ship captained by pirate King Moorcraig, who had defied Toruk and died in the Dragonfather's all-consuming flames. The ancient dead hold this accursed vessel's shattered aft section aloft and are ground under its hull as it glides across the earth."
A rather awesome addition to the Cryxian arsenal I think you'll agree. I can see a lot of people adding this to their collections so they can then use it for painting competitions!
This next image gives you an idea of the scale of the piece too...
As you can see it stands pretty much head and shoulders above most of the largest models within the Warmachine range. It would be quite the feat, an enjoyable one, to paint each of the individual characters and then have that big terrain piece to work on.
When you pre-order this product from their webstore you also get yourself a FREE Black Anchor Heavy Industries Bandana. Why wouldn't you want a swanky bandana right?
Drop your thoughts on this beast of a project below...

I’m not an Undead kind of guy so I am not really a Cryx kind of guy BUT these Cryx ren’t undead and go far on half a galleon (heh heh) , so these are very interesting and they have black Ogryn too … sooooo tempting
If Skarre can’t make a lad go undead nothing can
😉
…after all she had Great Rack, right? ;P
Wow… That’s a diorama in and of itself ! There’s been a step-up in the big beasties from PP…
It’s nice to look at and realy reminds me of the old GW/Citadel dioramas where they showed what was going on in different levels and rooms of buildings and so forth.
As a gaming figure that seems somewhat silly, though. I mean they built a nice backstory why a flying behind of a ship would work (obviously they really wanted even more pirate ship look with Skarre but a full ship would be too big). But they don’t even fortify the front? Who does that? ^^
I like it. But I think this is one of those webstore only dealios, which means a no go for me in the UK, import duties just make it more hassle and cost than it is worth unfortunately.
Great model though, nice to see them pushing the boundaries of what they do.
that thing is awesome. I don’t play warmachine or hordes, I do however have a vampire counts army (as was) for warhammer. What’s ticking through my mind is to have this represent a vampire coven throne in the army of Luthor Harkon, Pirate King of the Vampire Coast – hordes of zombie sailors and this thing floating about..
It doesn’t look bad but still a half boot looks silly in my opinion.
If they ever would do a full boat (probably not) I would like to have the Atramentus.
Love it will work great as a survival game with the crew fighting off the natives/beasts of the land their ship wrecked on.
As much as I find the half a ship idea a bit daft it’s a stunning peice.
Agreed. I’d probably paint the front of this model ethereal. Like it was turning ghostly/spectral or something
Nice idea.
They should do a middle section and a front section too…. three big chunks of boat, would be hilarious
It’s a Battle Engine??? Well, it would have the “engine” end of the boat, I guess. Or is it an “undead” boat with the bow missing? Agreed, nice diorama, but not sure it’d be something I’d put into a game. Love the new Satyxis though.
I often comment that I’m not usually a fan of the design aesthetic of a lot of the Warhmahordes ranges, but this is amazing!
