Fly The Flag For Orgoth & Cygnar With New Warmachine Miniatures
February 20, 2023 by brennon
You can fly the flag for your chosen faction in Warmachine MK4 as Privateer Press makes a trio of new miniatures available for you to snap up for both Orgoth and Cygnar.
Reaver Standard // Warmachine
The Reaver Standard can be added to any Reaver unit in your Orgoth force and boosts the damage that your warriors can dish out when getting stuck into the fighting. These fell totems, inscribed with dark magic, are a rallying call for the terrible powers of the Fellgoeth.
Similarly, there is also a new Standard variant for those playing as Cygnar as well.
Legionnaire Standard Bearer // Warmachine
This Standard Bearer can be added to a small-based Legionnaire unit and comes with the Ionization special rule. He also comes with a Voltaic Sword which is handy for dishing out some bonus damage and it has the Electro Leap special rule which can cause some mayhem.
Moving away from the Standard Bearers, you've also got this Officer miniature.
Legionnaire Officer // Warmachine
They come with Special Orders and can make both ranged and melee attacks in the same activation which is pretty neat. They also come armed with a Voltaic Great Sword which can use Electro Leap again and the Lighting Pulse. Mighty warriors clad in heavy armour, sticking it to the forces of Orgoth.
Will you be picking up these new miniatures for Warmachine?

I was a huge warmachine fan back in the day. I loved the fantasy feel, with the modest steam punk vibe added in. The “magi-tech” stuff was okay, when it was kept super rare. I get they have to continue to advance and change things, in order to sell new things. That is a given and understandable. However, they just have gone to far into the “magi-tech”/ scifi terrritory. I hate these models. They are zero fantasy to me. They mine as well be part of that new game they came out with. When it came out it was a… Read more »
I hear ya. I still have my Rhulic minis, as they are some of my favorite dwarven minis ever. The older WM had a fantastical look and feel while staying grounded and more subdued. Over time, they kept getting wilder and wilder with their designs, and now these are just way too busy for my taste.
I’m holding out hope that new Rhulics are released, and that they’re good-looking. If they are, I may snag some if the price is right.
I’ve got to agree. Warmachine started as “Napoleonic fantasy” then rapidly evolved into what I tend to refer to as “Industrial fantasy” with factories, trains & mass production at which point it didn’t have the same appeal. At that point it just began to look like a slightly more low tech version of 40k which wasn’t the original appeal at all. I’ve still got my Khadoran army, my Rhulfolk and my Circle army but the new stuff just doesn’t appeal to me as it looks too sci fi for my tastes.
Warmachine was always Industrial Fantasy. It was based on the Iron Kingdoms setting for D&D that came out years before the wargame. The cover of the World Guide for that game had a giant steam train in the foreground and a factory in the background….
Those look really nice.
So PP have made this new Warmachine MK4 into a cross between a pale imitation of 40k and the most generic bits of World Of Warcraft. And all of the models are 3D printed, and expensive. Whelp… good luck!
“We like new things! But we don’t like new things.”
“We like 3D-printed! But we don’t like 3D printed.”
“We’ll pay for expensive models, but we won’t pay for expensive models.”
“We like unique designs/concepts, but we don’t like them.”
SIGH… everyone’s free to like what they want, but the rhetoric around PP these days really kills the love for the brand.
These are really nice models. I like them. The work involved in scultping them is significant. The technology novel and a good idea.
I like the look of the Khador army box – then I saw the price. I can’t afford to spend £200 on the models. For me, the value isn’t there. That’s harder to say than I thought it would be. I am not pleading poverty by any means but when there’s the Conquest starter box for half the price with double the miniatures that’s where I’ll put my money.
I agree with everything you said. I have really fallen hard into Conquest and have been having a great time building and painting a Spires army.
Ooh nice figures.
I’ve already picked up new MKIV and am enjoying the handful of games I’ve been able to play. The new models look amazing and the new app is so good! My friends and I are definitely having fun and they still get to use their older stuff.
