Have Faith & Fortune In High Command For Privateer Press
June 6, 2014 by brennon
Privateer Press have a big expansion coming your way for High Command. See what you make of the contents coming forth in the Faith & Fortune Core Set...
In this set...
The WARMACHINE High Command Faith & Fortune core set introduces four new factions: Retribution of Scyrah, Convergence of Cyriss, Highborn Covenant, and Four Star Syndicate. This core set is a stand-alone deck-building card game. It has everything 2–4 players need to play and can be customized with expansion releases for the included factions. Leverage your resources, rally your armies, and dominate your foes to set your banner above all of western Immoren!
89 Retribution of Scyrah cards
89 Convergence of Cyriss cards
89 Highborn Covenant cards
89 Four Star Syndicate cards
15 Winds of War cards
15 Location cards
So as well as being an expansion for existing content it also works as a stand alone set which is pretty cool. I like that we're getting to see a few more of the Mercenary cards slipping into this one and of course the Convergence of Cyriss should be an interesting addition to the melting pot!
Have you been enjoying High Command?

Does High Command mostly (or exclusively?) feature the existing characters from Warmachine or are there named characters that only exist as cards within the game? I caught a glimpse of a Highborn warcaster “Nicolene Beaudrie” for example. Is there a precedent for ensuring that characters in the card game have models in Warmahordes and vice versa?
High Command has only been out for a year (less?). I don’t think a precedent has been established yet. Anything they design for the card game that isn’t already in the game will take time to get into the pipeline (if it isn’t already). I wouldn’t be surprised if some things cross over from card to mini, but I would expect there to be some unique flavor as well. Unless someone at PP wants to leak the info, it will probably be hard to predict what does and does not make the jump.
Due to the nature of splitting “mercs” into highborn and 4 Star it appears that they may give us a few new casters that aren’t in the game at this time – in the latest expansion there is a jack called the “Mad Dog” which isn’t currently a model either.
Who knows in the next anthology book this might mean they will become characters in the game.
Other than that Im really happy to see my mercs entering the game – lets see how much damage I can do, for the right cost 🙂
