Cygnar Call In The Stormwall Colossal
March 9, 2012 by brennon
This has been seen before in videos, but this is the first look at details of the model and just how it looks alongside others. Check out the Cygnar Stormwall Colossal for Warmachine...
A pretty massive, massive model. And it looks superb alongside others from the range. Despite the baby blue paint scheme of Cygnar I wouldn't want to meet this on the battlefield! It's also a creation of Nemo who we saw the model of yesterday.
A pretty big reason to be getting into Warmachine?
Great looking colossal. Stormwall is among best looking colossals.
Before anyone else brings up the fact that this is much dearer than a Baneblade – it’s a resin/metal hybrid kit, meaning more complex content checking per box and more importantly, more skilled labour to demould the parts whereas a Baneblade is just rattled off the production lines (so to speak). It’s still way too dear for me personally (especially as I don’t have the skill to assemble something like this), but it’s a lovely large detailed kit that’s perfect for the Cygnar player who has everything. So long as colossals aren’t instant win buttons, I think it’ll be well… Read more »
Personally, I think that should be a light jack. Can you imagine what the heavy would look like if that was the light? 😉
Over all it looks like a pretty cool and imposing model.
If I’m thinking right, the normal warjack is about the same size as a dreadnaught , which makes that thing huge.
Not a warmachine player, apart from watching the videos here have no real idea about the game, but as a modelling project just to spend a month or two building and painting, that thing looks brilliant.
Not sure I’d paint it blue though.
well the collassals are counted as a warjack, so at my guess if they are <20 points you could use it in a 15 point game? that could be interesting in small games.
They needed to have a storm strider next to it for size comparison. I guess the colossals are going to have a larger bases than the battle engines.
BTW- I heard same base size as BE.
Im still waiting for a decent actual shot with figs side by side as the group shot is just a photoshop jobbie.
Anyway they look great, hopefully play great but they might be good value but they are just so dam expensive
The above pic says its a 120mm base. That makes sense to me.
Woah that is slightly bigger then I thought hell that thing could pick up Ol-Rowdy and drop kick him across the battlefield… oh god dammit now I want to model that somehow. But yes defintely getting one of those for my cygnar.
CAnt wait to see the Menoth version 🙂
From looking at the artwork i’d say that the Menoth one will be pritty good looking.
I am shocked at the high price of this model. Privateer has to know GW is their biggest competitor, so to produce a model that will invite obvious price comparisons (Baneblades, Stompa, to name a few) is puzzling. I see no value in the Colossus at that price.
