Warlord Games Unleash The Concord On The Gates Of Antares
February 14, 2015 by brennon
Warlord Games have added another race to the line-up of Gates of Antares figures that are currently for sale! This time it's the human Concord that are getting the pre-order treatment!
This Concord Starter Army comes with...
- 1 x Command Squad Strike Commander, 2 Strike Troopers, Spotter
- 1 x C3 Strike Squad firing Strike Leader, 4 Strike Troopers, Spotter
- 1 x C3 Strike Squad advancing Strike Leader, 4 Strike Troopers, Spotter
- 1 x C3 Support Team with X-Launcher 2 Strike Trooper crew, Spotter
- 1 x C3 Support Drone with Plasma Light Support Weapon Drone, Spotter
- 5 x Olive Green order dice
...so everything you need to get started with this army for the world of Antares. I'm not overly sold on the drones and such myself or this army but I do like the regular troopers that you're getting here from Warlord. I think they've captured better poses with this lot than they have with some of the other armies.
As with most of the starter armies this is meant to be a good balanced force for you to start playing with and hopefully more armies will be getting this treatment in the future.
What do you think of the Concord?

From look of the minis alone this is the one that I would go for so far, if I had the bandwidth for an other game
My thoughts exactly. If this game takes off I’ll definitely get one of these sets.
Ordered them yesterday.
Got to say, that the Gate of Antares stuff has got a Sci-Fi look that I really, really like.
awesome look!
Those are very tempting.
The starter set is a bit pricy for me, because I only need a few of these. I’m going to wait for the individual squad releases. But they’re the best put out for The Gates of Antares so far. Very “Traveller” in appearance and feel.
Now I’m getting interested
I like the under-stated look of the miniatures. It’s nice not having something OTT, and this also perhaps fills the niche of people wanting something that doesn’t have anime elements (Infinity) or is as stylised (Warzone).
Assuming that it’s possible to play and enjoy the game at this points level, that’s not too bad a deal. I saw a few of the Algoryn miniatures in person and they are certainly very nicely detailed sculpts.
Lol
70 quid for 15 not-Tau/Marines with zero options, in metal and static 1980s sculpting poses?
And that’s the “army deal”?
Lol
“understated look” (easy to sculpt)…. for £70 understated feels like a punch in the face.
Starter Army? lols. You mean Starter Set. I can only presume this is *all* you need for the game. When you’re selling inferior metal models than GW for more, you’re doing it wrong. (10 metal models from GW are about £20 btw, all superior models). This is a weird experience that cannot end well, I presume they are trying to raise the capital to produce cheaper plastic box sets.
The Concord are my favourite faction from Antares, so I am definitely going to pick up one of these army deals.
When finalised ruleset is released, I think that Antares will make quite the splash in wargaming circles.
Um..yay? The armor is very old-school, but that I suppose has it’s fans, but the poses…oh golly jee, I thought we moved away from the “trotting leisurly” and “fistpumping commander” in the early 2000s? They really do, when you combine the two elements, like something dredged up from a 90’s warehouse.
They are weighty figures, a lot of lead. Can appreciate the cost more now after the comments about they are being currently cast to order and the range is not like the others ranges and distributed across the same sales network yet, hence the higher costs.
Really are nice figure though.
i’d like to see some unboxing especially algoryn
