Warlord Games Join The Hukk In Their Gates Of Antares Bounty Hunting
November 17, 2017 by brennon
Warlord Games are going to be hunting down the criminals of the galaxy with their new Bounty Hunter, the Hükk. Take a look at the new models and set that will be out today in the Mercenaries section of their website.
Let's learn a bit more about the Hükk from the guys at Warlord Games...
"Hükk is a planet and system that reconnected in the Seventh Age in the sparsely populated, southerly area of the Determinate. It is home to a species who evolved from lone, carnivorous hunters, territorial creatures normally intolerant of others of their kind. The species take their name from the planet: the Hükk (pronounced ‘Heur-ck’ with a heavy ‘ck’)
To outsiders, Hükk appear amoral and without remorse or pity, but they never lie or seek to deceive, merely refuse to reveal information given in confidence. Such deception implies weakness and to even imply such deception is deeply insulting. The drive to maintain and enhance hürakh acts in a way we could understand as honourable: a Hükk would never decline a job unless he or she felt it unworthy of them – and they would be insulted to be offered an unworthy hunt in the first place!
Hükk bounty hunters often make use of pack hunting creatures, as did their ancestors, much as humans may keep hounds. In most cases, these creatures are controlled by some kind of neural implant – depending very much on the creature. Whilst lavan creatures are occasionally used on kill missions, the creatures we have here are specially-bred and tailored angkriz."
The models are looking awesome and I love that we're getting a look at some more of the truly alien creatures within the world of Beyond The Gates Of Antares. The Hükk comes with a customised Mag Gun, his X-Sublauncher and also a host of special rules which will soon be available from Warlord Games.
The Hükk also gets this new set where you get all manner of tools to hunt down your enemies.
What do you make of these new models coming to the world of Antares? Are you a fan of the look for these new alien creatures and if so how would you paint them?

Yet another Game that got put on the back burner by a resurgent 40k 8th edition.
I really have to start rectifying that.
I had a wee flutter on 8th ed. Probably about 20 ish games in and I’m bored with it now.
Back to Gates 😀 you a can’t beat it
new horizons with more and more aliens for the best sci fi skirmish ruleset out there
Everyone thinks at first this is Bolt Action in space, however its anything but (really the only thing shared is the order dice and activation). In fact we are working on a way to convert our WW2 games to Antares.
Not as “alien” as the Tsan Ra figures, interested in seeing what the rules will be for this mini 🙂
Bery true, we wanted to make “Advanced” Bolt Action using Antares rules for WW2
Those look really good.
The Hukk and Angkriz look great, and as a Ghar player I’m really pleased that we now have mercenaries who can work with our forces.
Hands down, the bast sci-fi system I’ve played…. Or any system tbh. A real hidden gem. The pinning, Order and reaction rules make it one of the most tactically challenging and satisfying systems where you can really pit your wits against your opponent instead of just move-roll dice-remove models. Also it doesn’t require an expensive buy in because model count is relatively low. Also the bundles WL do are fantastic. Tournaments tend to run at 1000 points max which gives me 4 infantry squads of 6 dudes, a howitzer, 3 2man support teams and a few light drones. I honestly… Read more »
