Johnny Red, Comes To Warlord Games’ Blood Red Skies
April 28, 2019 by dracs
Warlord Games have a special new release for Blood Red Skies up for pre-order, none other than classic comic strip character Johnny Red and the Soviet Falcon Squadron!
Discharged from the RAF for striking a fellow officer Johnny Redburn joins the Merchant Navy. Whilst on route to Murmansk his ship comes under attack from the mighty Luftwaffe.
Leaping into action Johnny takes the place of the killed catapult Hurri pilot and launches into the maelstrom of combat and into history as one of the best classic comic strips of all time!
The set features one Hurricane ACE aircraft, Johnny's own stolen plane, and one squadron of six Soviet aircraft, the famous Falcon Squadron.
The Battle comic star is also included as a 28mm character figure, meaning he could also appear in your games of Bolt Action.
This is a really fun addition to Blood Red Skies, bringing the fun and glory of the pulp comic character into the game's dog-fights.
Have you ever read any Johnny Red comics?

Used to love Battle comic back in the day (1970’s!!!!)
This definitely appeals.
“the killed catapult Hurri pilot” so he’s an undead pilot then? XD
Never read the comic, but that is a lovely sculpt and they have done a great job with the paint job. Certainly looks like a man who would slap an officer but jump to the aid of his fellow crew and save the day!
Johnny Red – now there’s a blast from the past.
Good to see Warlord leveraging that deal with Rebellion in some interesting ways beyond the obvious touchstones of Dredd, Strontium Dog and Rogue Trooper….
Very nice.
I’m not familiar with the source material… but I’m reminded of another ace pilot…
