The French Chasseurs à Cheval Ride Into Battle For Black Powder
May 16, 2015 by brennon
Warlord Games have put together a new plastic and metal combination set that will allow you field a new unit of French Chasseurs à Cheval in your Napoleonic games of Black Powder.
Charge!
The Napoleonic French Chasseurs à Cheval were formed in 1743 and were a tough force of cavalry used for raiding and scouting. They rode on light horses and were perfect for skirmish-style engagements providing a vital way to get intelligence back to commanding officers.
While able to fight on foot they preferred to ride as much as possible and were armed with a carbine, curved sabre and a bayonet. The last of these weapons they detested and used it to dig up vegetables when raiding rather than in combat.
Inside the box you get twelve of these riders that are made up of six parts each with the metal components fitting in easily with the existing plastic.
A great kit!

I do like them – I would pick them up if I could talk someone else into Napoleononics. .
They look so much nicer than the ones I kitbashed from the dragoons box :'( well, cleaner at least… Will have to use mine as the grubbier, veteran, campaign dress contingent
I was the guy who painted these, they were a joy to paint and the horses in particular are fantastic
really?!! done a fantastic job 🙂
Thanks mate, I was pleased with them!
you should be! how did you do such a good job of the yellow piping if you don’t mind me asking?
It’s a simple case of painting it vallejo german orange ochre, then add flat yellow to the ochre (50/50) then final highlight of flat yellow
Having seen the sprues at Salute I was looking forward to getting a box.
Despite the simplicity of the kit there seem to be enough head options to avoid sameyness..
Great paint job!
Cheers

For the second time I have to disagree with all the enthusiastic comments on Warlord products due to the huge number of Historical mistakes done with these figures.
