New Warhammer Wrathmongers & Skullreapers Begin Slaying For Khorne
March 4, 2015 by brennon
New warriors for the army of Khorne descending from the North have been spotted online as the Warhammer Fantasy End Times comes to a close from Games Workshop. A lot of nice quality photos leaked online showing off the new Wrathmongers & Skullreapers for the Dark God and you can see them HERE...
These are no simple knights or indeed warriors but the specialised berserkers at the heart of the Khornate army. The Skullreapers come clad in heavy plate but with a few sections missing just to show how tough they are. They wield two spiky hand weapons, forgoing shields in favour of a chance to shed more blood. I quite like the design of these and they'd work equally well as more elite soldiers in a Chaos Space Marine army too I reckon.
The Wrathmongers are all flails and hammers and look like something from a horror video game. I kind of like the blood red skin, the masks of bronze, and the rather over the top nature of practically everything we're seeing here Khorne-wise. I really liked the Bloodthirster last week to so I might find myself picking up some of these new plastics just to have a play around with them.
What do you make of the new Khorne warriors?

Hmm. It’s almost like they’d work better with round bases…
It’s nice to see followers of Khorne getting some love as well.
Dear lord, I hope the lighting a paintjob is terrible as those minis look awful.
OMG, those are hilarious!
Having said that, I’d buy something based on the artwork above, but obviously the artists and sculptors work in isolation (especially the sculptors. They need to get out more, and see what makes a gaming/miniatures company profitable).
This may end up being the funniest GW thread yet, better than the Space Viking release! The “How do we fix these?” comments should start immediately.
I’m hoping it’s all just a combination of bad angles and bad choice of colours. The individual limbs etc. all look great but then you see them combined and ..wtf.
How can they f*ck these models up! They were doing so well with their Nurgle range!
Y.M.C.A!
That is all!
I literally burst out laughing reading this mate!!! Looking at the pics again I will humbly suggest they be known collectively as the ‘Khornate People’. 🙂
They look a bit silly to me but I’m sure peeps will eat them up. At least their interesting and a bit different.
Actually I quite like the Skullreaper variant now that I think of it. Can def see the 40k cross-over potential.
Now the Skullreapers are a lot better than the ‘Khornate People’ 😀
I see with these models ‘the war against transport solutions’ continues, cause they look like a pain to store and transport. If only we could use an acronym to describe that……
BIGBUTT ? ; Badly Incorporated Generous Bulge Uncontested Transport Terror
Oh dear.
This is some of the best stuff ive ever seen, all categories … BAM! 10 boxes pre ordered along with 20 sticks of green stuff !
I’m, I’m, I’m lost for words (well not words I can post) was the sculpter shown one of the 80’s He-Man action toys and told “like that but evil”.
Needs more muscles. Wait…
I couldn’t have said it any better than it’s already been said, I think these models are just not up to par with what else is out there… They just seem childish, I know that’s a strange description, but they’re like something a twelve year old would think up when told we need something big, scary and evil. Not impressed.
I liked the Bloodthirster a lot but these are terrible.
There are already new bloodthirsters for sale on ebay, opened but not built, if you’re interested. A bit cheaper, I think.
Thanks but all my spare pennies are being saved for Salute! 😀
In the spirit of trying to find the positives, the legs would probably make great chaos terminator legs… That’s about all I’ve got :/
Aww cute. Khorne now have their very own Goblin Fanatics
If only. The fanatics were great minis.
Reminded me of doomseekers from the old slayer army – they where better models – got a couple somewhere
Art work looked a little predictably khornate, albiet too cliche for the god of cliche, but these models are falling short of the art work. They are however fantastic…… because it has finally let me identify exactly what I dislike about the later GW CAD work – it blocky, with lacking those final passes that take the hard edges off and make it stand out as CAD work. Elements have been combined but not carefully merged in short they are 2-3 passes before being ready to produce – I do wonder if the is a skills and training thing or… Read more »
imagine all the manhours and thousands of pounds that has gone into creating these, sculptors, art directors, making the moulds, producing the sprues, designing the boxes, getting them painted, photographed, writing rules and articles about them..,
now Imagine that same effort being put into better looking miniatures instead.
Something I might actually buy. Sigh. another release that is not for me.
Oh, my.
GW get worse and worse. What the hell is going on? These look like (bad) action figures, not hideous, malformed warriors mutated by the ruinous powers.
Unless of course the ruinous powers were trying to mutate them into the Village People, which truly would strike fear into the heart of the Old World.
All of these YMCA jokes might seem funny now, but don’t forget it was through disco dancing that the Horus Heresy started….

haha well remembered!!
I like em! Not as outrageously awesome as the Bloodthirster but they certainly convey the fury and menace of knorne and add some dynamism to the range. Obviously all the other chaos goods are meffs compared to Nurgle so exited to see what they do for my smelly leader of the chaos pack.
I honestly am hoping it’s the paint job and these models will look different in person because they are quite shockingly bad right now ….. i mean, they shouldn’t be, yet somehow they all look … wrong
Seriously worried now.
This marks a return to old skool style with skullz back in favour of foot on rock syndrome 😛
Disclaimer…
One figure has foot on slab of rock I missed that having not zoomed in on the image
Having zoomed in I immediately wished I hadn’t
Oh MY GLOB they are awful
All joshing apart, GW really have lost it with the design of minis imho
I get that some will like the style, and that it is sort of consistent with existing minis, but in comparison to what is happening in the wider miniatures industry, these do look old school but without the charm.
It will need more than a good paint job to bring these figures up to snuff
I will have to wait until I get a better looik at these minis and a full 360 rotation before I render any kind of final judgement, but from what I have seen thus far they just aren’t for me.
