Warhammer: The Old World Visits The Land Of The Tomb Kings
February 7, 2023 by brennon
Whilst Warhammer: The Old World will be concerning itself with the warring factions of The Empire all vying to become Emperor, the Warhammer world is a large place and there are far-off empires looking to reclaim what was once theirs. The Tomb Kings are going to be returning in force to Warhammer: The Old World according to Games Workshop.

The mighty Settra The Imperishable once controlled the lands of Khemri and his empire extended far beyond the sands of his homeland. Since Nagash doomed Settra's people, long years have passed and now Settra has been awoken from his tomb, he is keen to reestablish control over his lands and crush any usurpers.
To that end, it looks like we're going to be getting the full might of the Tomb Kings back on the tabletop with Warhammer: The Old World. Ranks upon ranks of Skeleton Warriors (art above) will be marching across the sands followed by the rumble of chariot wheels.
You'll also see the return of the Sepulchral Stalkers and the like, summoned guardians of ancient tombs, looking to do their king's bidding. The Tomb Kings had a little burst of awesomeness before the Old World was blasted to smithereens by Games Workshop and so it will be great to see kits both new and old (I hope) making it back to the tabletop.

It was mentioned that the focus is going to be on the impact Settra's forces have had on The Old World and its fringes but there are always going to be possibilities for them to head back into the depths of the desert. I would love to see supplements diving into tomb raiding and the like in the heart of Settra's empire. Perhaps that could end up being a supplement for Mordheim...
Are you happy to see the Tomb Kings return in force?

Looking good, ticking the nostalgia boxes for me
Ooh time to dust off the old skellibobs folk’s for another deadly dance in the sands.
I remember town cryer magazine had a run of Khemri rules for mordheim. Will these be new sculpts or just repackaged old minis because they are just the same.
I have an inkling that they are going to be releasing a LOT of the old kits again and then adding in a few new ones to fill the gaps with particular armies.
Excellent news. Love the Tomb Kings models. Be great to dig them out again.

Personally, I can live without Egyptian-themed Undead, Vampire- or Necromancer-led armies are more up my alley.
Oooh, I foresee many cool Dark Mechanicus conversions involving that half-snake guy!
