Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Gets New Lease Of Life With Cubicle 7?
April 19, 2017 by brennon
As a big fan of the Old World and both the 1st and 2nd Editions of the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game, it was fantastic to hear that Cubicle 7 might be picking up the mantle and charging forth into the future with a new edition of the game.
This all came from a tweet by Encounter Roleplay which was then posted by our very own @redben over in the forums. At the time of writing there has been no official announcement but it would be great to see what they can do with the game.
Maybe we'll see them do something similar to what they did with Adventures In Middle Earth and tie it into the well known and loved D&D 5th Edition system?
Would you like to see a new edition?

As I said over on the thread I’ll be keen to see where they go with this (I loved that first edition big green tome …sigh ..it was so cool )
WFRP was the first roleplaying game I ever played. Good ol’ days…
The Old World is such a great setting for roleplaying and video games. If only someone would release a miniatures game for it! 🙂
Damn you for stealing my line, but I agree whole heartily. What a waste of an incredible world..
I’m never one to miss some obvious wise-assery 🙂
That’s great.
I never played it but could see myself getting into it if the reviews for the new addition are good.
Hey gang,
Daniel Fox, creator of ZWEIHÄNDER Grim & Perilous RPG (Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2e retroclone) here. I broke the news about this story back in January. Here are some additional details to come out of this that you may have missed: http://grimandperilous.com/?p=1058
Some additional information with my experience with GW Licensing when I attempted to buy the license for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2e: https://youtu.be/9kkGc0FB_NA?t=2738

Hi Daniel, thanks for the info :). I did mention in the forum topic that the news wasn’t ‘new’, rather that I was hoping the tweet meant it was about to be made official by C7 🙂
Bring back the original system please. I’d hate to see it tied to a d20 system.
The original was great and we had a campaign every year, gone downhill ever since.
Enjoyed the first edition, loved the second edition and still play it now. Never played third edition. Can’t help but think that the new version with be set in AoS and as I have no knowledge of the background it means that I won’t touch it.
I played first edition and will be keeping an eye on how things develop. crucible7 will do a fine job i’m sure.
