Vermintide DevBlog Makes Skaven Slaying Look Fun!
July 23, 2015 by brennon
Keeping with the theme of video games we've got a great DevBlog from Fatshark on Vermintide which shows off a lot more of the gameplay for the Empire Soldier, Dwarf Ranger and Elf Waywatcher in the game. You also get to hear about the overall direction for this Skaven slaughter simulator...
What I like about the game from watching this latest blog is the weight and effect each of the weapons has when you swing them or fire them. It all feels and sounds like you're actually getting stuck in. I think this is pretty important, especially when you consider that it's the Warhammer world.
You can tell that Fatshark are all big fans of Warhammer from the way they've delivered the characters to the world that they're bringing to life. I'm excited to see some proper extended gameplay footage and the characters working together.
It all does feel very Left 4 Dead but if you're going to be making a game like this what better franchise to follow as a guideline?
What do you think?

looks like it may be a brilliant game to play.
1.17 ” a elf would never use a dwarf sword” real profis at vermintide lol, I you love warhammer you would know : KLINKA NA KARAZ : GRUND AN A GRUNGRON : AZ AN A ANKOR
‘A Pick for the Earth, A Hammer for the Anvil and an Axe for everything else!’
This does look a cool fun game to play. I do hope they release it for the PS4.
Would have preferred over the shoulder pov still looks like fun be cool if the coop works like gauntlet. What’s the betting sigmarines as preorder dlc?
I would rather play as Skaven and kill all those pansy Elves, Dwarves and pinkskins! Where is the Skaven love!
They could easily do a skaven assassin game and just set it in the old world, but more aking to classic theif than assassins creed. Make it a sneaker/stabber with deep rpg elements. Draw from years of warhammer rpg material, hire the best writers .. it could beat them all. Wonder if GW knows this?
