Take To The Skies With Prosecutors For Age Of Sigmar
September 2, 2015 by brennon
Age Of Sigmar is getting a bunch of new models this weekend to round off the Stormcast Eternals (we think). It looks like you can expect some new characters from Games Workshop based on the Prosecutors; the Knight-Azyros and Knight-Venator. There also appears to be some additional cosmetic options for personalising your Stormcast...
The two different Knights give you two options. One of them appears to be more focused on close combat and support while the other is a ranged option with bow. I think that both of the Knights are fantastic models and it gives more credence to the Prosecutors being the stars of the Stormcast Eternals.
Talking of the Prosecutors there are of course more models for them coming in a boxed set complete with weapon options like hammers, spears and axes.
Additional cosmetic options are coming including shields, shoulder pads and icons.
Have you picked up any of the additional Age of Sigmar models?

More of the same. Just can’t get on board with that Hasbro armour. Next faction, please.
…Hasbro!
p.s., i’m not a user of Bellend of Lost Souls, but I heard they have removed all their WFB threads. Looks like Warhammer is really dead!
What’s that @Brennon? Angel themed Stormcast army you say? I would definitely fancy one of those, only transporting it anywhere would probably drive you crazy faster than direct exposure to the Warp. The sad sight of all those fragile energy wing vane things scattered all over the inside of your model case – ’tis enough to shatter the sanity of even the most hardened war gamer.
It would definitely be one for the shelf, only taken down occasionally with great care for games against our most trusted fellow toy soldier enthusiasts. It would look awesome though. 🙂
Yeah I love the idea of an entire angel army but I agree – would be hell to transport haha.
I can’t wait for the next factions either @cpauls1 – I want to see these new angry lava-blooded Red Slayer Dwarves!!!

For myself, I am looking forward to seeing where GW goes with the Undead in AoS. Vampire Counts were my faction of choice in Oldhammer, and I very much want to see what has changed and what has stayed the same for them and for the Undead in general (the provisional rules for the faction from the Warscrolls are rather excellent, but we don’t know how closely they will resemble the final version of the army in the AoS universe) . At least we know Nagash is still about, causing trouble.
What do you think about the possibility of using components from the Knight-Azyros kit in the Tyrael conversion you are planning, @Brennon? The sword is there already, as are the wings.
There are certainly plenty of Angelic style bits coming down the pipeline for that type of conversion. The new weapons for the Prosecutors include a Storm Surge Trident that would be a solid stand in for Imperious’ spear, for example.
Duardin next please GW.
When I first saw the AoS boxed game, I was excited, it looked really fresh, with great sculpts and and interesting game mechanic to boot. Sadly instead of building on this GW have just basically churned out a ton of add on figures which effectively all look the same, albeit for massive amount more per fig than in the starter.
I just find this all so very boring. I know it’s a new Army and so they need lots of options, but please, this is just so repetitive.
I know where you’re coming from matey. This has to be the last of the eternals releases, wondering if they may switch back to 40k for a bit before going for more AoS factions.
Ok guys, could people PLEASE stop downranking people for saying they like a AOS model, this is really getting silly, and a tad tiresome.
Its ok for people to like things you dont,
D.B.A.D.!!!!!
The models look good, but I would worry about how durable they are, especially the wings and how they are mounted on the bases.
I personally like the new AoS models. I chose the Nurgle Rotbringers for my army. I want to see the Duardin next, especially the Fyreslayers.
I still dont know how to plan an army for this game, but keep releasing miniatures for goodness sake. Is the game even fun without using peoples homemade point solutions? Im seriously not getting what this game is or wants to be. To me it looks like selling minis is 100% focused on, and having a properly balanced game is up to me. Sounds like alot of work for the price asked for all this stuff ..
…testify brother!
I think they are appealing to people who want a fun experience and less concerned with establishing conditions to measure winning – not wanting to denigrate either party as most of us fall somewhere between the two. I don’t play GW systems anymore but I do love the models, (with a few exceptions). Pezzapoo on youtube has said some interesting stuff about AoS. I take his opinion fairly seriously because he has a lot of gaming experience (I don’t) and is often at the top of various competitive leaderboards in bolt action, drop zone commander and others. He’s played games… Read more »
AoS is great fun to play with mates, and frankly the lack of points i like, seems like the perfect antidote to mathhammer, a thriving tournament scene is not the only measure of how “good” a game is, personally i find the tournament scene boring and anything but fun. But i love to play games and have fun, not spend hours in front of a spreadsheet. For everyone who says its failed maybe it has by a narrow definition of it not conforming to your prejudices, but for me its breathed fresh life into the warhammer world, it literally made… Read more »
I’m not a fan of AoS’ models, but the rules seem fine. I’d like more list structure but it is what it is. This whole post, though, is exactly my feelings towards gaming. I often get ridiculed for not playing games when they “become popular” but it’s not the popularity that’s the issue for me, it’s the fact that our local gaming scene tends to be full of ultra-competitive tournament-style players. It’s just no fun to play in that environment. The occasional tournament is fun, but the “lifestyle” just doesn’t appeal to me. Give me a fun, narrative campaign over… Read more »
My thoughts as well before I actually played it and found I was having great fun in doing so, the game is a breath of fresh air.

love these guys but I want to see some new Sylvaneth stuff!
…not a single Green Lantern joke in the comment section yet. What is the world coming to? Maybe not a lot of posters have bothered to look at the pictures? Just slagging it off on general principle? Come on: In Darkest Night… so anyway, I must admit to not liking the sigmarines when they first came out. Now I am warming up to them, especially the angel winged ones. The one in the OP with the lantern is actually quite good. Better than the anti.nagash one by a long way. But I refuse to pay those prices, which kinda sours… Read more »
Awesome, love these guy’s on the table-top, not because they are the best unit, but because they look the best, something AoS lets you do 🙂 Can’t wait for these to come out.
Well, at least the army is coherent? 😉
I tend to magnetize or add pegs to parts such as wings. I know it may be a bother to people but the end result is far more helpful than just gluing it together.
When will BoW do some battle report videos of the is big new game on the block!
I really like the look of the Knight Venator with the little bird swooping around. The other one isn’t bad either.
The upgrade kit looks interesting as well. Bucklers as an alternate shield?? Could style the Sigmarites with a more Ancient Greek slant to it. That’d be cool.
Not even gonna look at the cost, it’ll just depress me lol
Hasselfree do some lovely hoplite shields in 28mm and 40mm – the latter being about 20mm across, so might be a better fit?
Yeah might do, they’re fairly bigish models. Scibor has some fun alternate extra bits as well.
I toyed with the idea of getting back into GW games when I saw they were doing age of sigmar but $1900AU Chaos Castles and single character miniatures from $75.00 – $140.00AU killed it for me. This isn’t a GW bash (More power to them) but for me personally, there are other companies out there who offer at least an equal product for no where near the cost.
The best thing about the sigmarines with wings, is that they are practically truescale bolod angle sanguinary guard and also a great source of bits to kitbash from, prefer the sigmarine wings to the sanguinary guard ones etc.
The models are absolutely fine, it’s just a shame that I don’t have much interest in the faction (or the Khorne one either). I can fully understand why they need to get so many of these Sigmarites out (to fully flash out what is a going to be pushed as a Flagship faction), but that doesn’t stop me being slightly disappointed in them taking up so much of the release schedule. Personally, I’m more interested in seeing what is going to happen with the other factions, and what kind of models we could get now that everything doesn’t need to… Read more »
Thinking about it the major problem for me really is that these are all essentially the same model. We all know GW produces 100% of their designs on computer, it strikes me that they’ve essentially created one master concept model and then tweaked it to create the entire army. Sorry but that’s just damn lazy. For the money they are charging these models ought to offer more.
Nothing has changed. Now they just have wings.
Needs a fat one to say GORDONS alive?
