Skaven and Chaos Join Forces In Vermintide II Trailer
October 19, 2017 by dracs
The first gameplay trailer for Warhammer: Vermintide II has appeared, promising yet more bloody carnage as you face off against the forces of order.
The first Vermintide was a four player cooperative game set in the End Times of the Warhammer Fantasy world.
Players took on the roles of distinct characters in order to fight off hordes of Skaven in a game style inevitably compared to the Left 4 Dead series.
The sequel, which is currently up for pre-order, allows players to choose from fifteen careers available for the five different heroes.
A rather nice touch is that each of these careers represents a different narrative path the characters have gone down since the first game, giving it a feel of character development in a form of game that doesn't really allow for it.
Of course, the biggest change is the arrival of the forces of Chaos, allying with the Skaven.
Bringing in Chaos alongside the Skaven means there will be a much greater level of enemy variety, always good for hack and slash games like this, which can run the risk of becoming a bit repetitive.
The original Vermintide was very well received and the trailor for the sequel promises to keep with its fast paced and flowing combat. Hopefully, we will get a more complete look at it soon.
Which character do you want to play as?

Dang, I guess I was still holding out for Chaos and Undead to be added as DLC for the first game. Still, I had a lot of fun with Vermintide, so I will surely pick up the sequel.
Here’s a very early look at the Showcase demo game.
