Rodeo Games’ Warhammer Quest Out 30th Of May!
May 24, 2013 by brennon
Rodeo Games have finally got things finalised for their release of Warhammer Quest as it's out next week on the 30th of May 2013! Finally you'll be able to delve deep with this newest iteration of the classic game...
So as the image above suggests, have faith and make sure to download it next week for your iDevices. There will be downloadable extra heroes and of course the Skaven expansion that I mentioned not long ago.
Will you be getting this?
Yuck, iDevices only! No need to look at them then.
It’s a shame that it’s an iPhone and iPad version of the game, as I won’t be able to get it.
Best keep an eye out on ebay or at conventions if you want the classic board game. Here’s one on ebay for £200 or best offer. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WARHAMMER-QUEST-GAME-BY-GAMES-WORKSHOP-FROM-1993-VERY-RARE-FREE-P-P-/300903608115?pt=UK_Toys_Wargames_RL&hash=item460f40af33
Cheaper than buying an iPad to just to play this version of it, I think.
As I mentioned last time I covered this, while some people won’t see this as being a great replacement for the board game, it’s the next iteration and evolution of it. It’s certainly a lot better than no one EVER getting to play it because GW refuse to reboot it. Admittedly it’s not great that it’s just on iOS platforms but hopefully they will move to Android and possibly Steam Greenlight if people push it enough. I don’t own an iDevice but if I did I’d be picking this up in a shot. Looks good, has plenty of character, lots… Read more »
I have to agree with @brennon here. Getting the actual game for iDevices is a start. Warhammer Quest could have stayed in development limbo forever if not for this project. If there even was any development plans for a new release of WHQ. So big hand to Rodeo Games for keeping the torch of this game alight. I said previously, that Rodeo Games’s first game was released also for Android. If the game generates enough revenues, there’s good chance it will be expanded to other platforms. From what I’ve read about Rodeo Games, I got the impression they’re not a… Read more »
A couple of points – Firstly, great news that this is coming out at all! Not nice that it’s IoS only, but perhaps if it sells well it will encourage future ventures to come out in both formats. – It would be wonderful if this prompted GW to launch the game – hell, anything is better than the prices they go for on ebay (as Majordutch has pointed out) – HOWEVER! 🙂 There are many other similar games to Warhammer Quest on the market; to name but 2, the D&D board games (for a cheaper, pick-up version) and the quite… Read more »
