Too bad the ship relies on Skaven Doomwheel sprues…
I don’t think those are Skaven wheels, they look far too uniform and they have a different tread pattern.
I think this is a wonderful kit, makes me want to play fantasy and empire, but I know nothing of its use or if it is more to display than play.
Also very expensive for me (pounds are almost four times my country currency). And that makes me wonder… Gamers from US and UK, those minis from Forge and GW are overpriced for you too or it’s just me?
your not alone. Every country its high in price.
Yeah……Makes me wanna build something like it for the Orcs and Goblins too….
being an artist, i don’t think they’re overpriced because i know the amount of work that goes into them.
if they’re just toys, then sure, they cost too much.
don’t support the artists you love, and live without art.
I really liked the ironside handgunners until I saw the price. £25 for a conversion set and thats not counting the cost of the handgunners boxed set you will need to complete the kit. The same effect could easily be achieved with a few armour plates and a a lock of helmets. And yes @silvio they are overpriced for us too, very overpriced in some cases. As for the land ship it could easily be converted from doomwheel and steam tank parts along with a model ship
The description of the models mentions that you can build the plastic kit as crossbow men and still use the spare weapons for these figures so you’d have two detachments from two kits.
Co-incidentally was thinking about getting an old plastic sailing ship kit…
And sticking it on the head of a giant for the gobbos, a la Time Bandits!
Not keen on the “tractor” type wheel configuration but looks nice otherwise.
What powers the landship? Is it pulled along by the willing throng?
(So glad I didn’t miss the “r” out of throng! lol)
ooops….meant for my reply to go here
Ha ha, loved the model until I visited the sight.. how much 😉
Still, if I had spare cash I’d love one 🙂
I fell in love with this model the first time Iaid my eyes on it. Awesome, awesome model. Even after reading the ‘overpriced’ comments, I was surprised to see how much it costs. I mean come on. 115GPB, that is a lot of money, even in a hobby as expensive as ours.
Given the price of FW Titans at one extreme and te comparative cost of a FW dreadnought I think all of them have been reasonably priced. Huge things like the boat are for people who already have massive armies, I’ve not thought twice about dropping £100 in GW when starting an army. As always things like this should be compared to other hobbies/pastimes over here it’s £30 for a ticket to a theme park, a night out in London is £40-50 so models that will give many, many more hours of hobby it’s a reasonable comparison, not to mention the… Read more »
@geniuschrist I do respect and understand every aspect of an artist work, since I work with that in a sort of way. Also I respect the work of GW and Forge.
My complain, if I can call that, is the price and the reality of spending too much in the hobby, and willing to have all those beautiful little things 🙂
Maybe a rant of a almost 40years old guy that is way too long in this hobby 🙂 ( and loving it)
