Gotrek & Felix Head To The City Of The Damned
May 21, 2013 by brennon
David Guymer, who has written for Gotrek & Felix and also the Skaven menace has another slayer book on the horizon. Check out the cover art for City of the Damned below from Black Library...
"Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire, or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between, and depends entirely upon whom you ask...Legend tells of the City of the Damned - a dark and forbidding place destroyed in a previous age by the wrath of Sigmar. Long have its fallen towers remained undisturbed by the people of Ostermark, but now an ancient evil stirs in the depths, gathering its strength once more. Gotrek and Felix are swept up in the crusade of Baron Gotz von Kiel to cleanse the city, and as the ruins are torn from the passage of time itself, the Slayer's doom appears to be approaching more quickly than either of them would like."
Sounds like it's going to be an awesome adventure! It's about time the dynamic duo of the Old World made their way to the blasted ruins of Mordheim in search of glory. The artwork is amazing too, and looks to be from a different artists than we've seen before which is always nice.
Guymer wrote the audio drama Curse of the Everliving which was incredibly fun as well as short stories about the duo. He is also penning the Headtaker novel.
I'll be looking forwards to this come September when it's released (if Amazon is any guide!).

Can anyone tell me when the Gortek&Felix takes place? Original Mordheim was destroyed some 500 years prior to the “current” WHF timeline …
Well this is set after Magnus set it to the torch… “but now an ancient evil stirs in the depths gathering strength once more”. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that while Magnus was able to burn the city to the ground some taint of Chaos remained within its walls. I quite like that they are revisiting a city that is considered ‘lost’ within the lore since, as I say, it makes sense that corruption is still rife there within the burnt out husk. As for when it’s set exactly (between books etc), I don’t know, but it’s very… Read more »
