Total War: Warhammer – The Battle of Couronne
March 22, 2017 by crew
We join MrStainless001 (also known as Sam) once again for a Journey From The Tabletop as he plays out a massive battle in Total War: Warhammer.
The Battle Of Couronne has been long coming as Bretonnia battles against their enemy, the trading capital of The Empire known as Marienburg.
Will Louen Leoncoeur be able to chase down his foe and trap him? Find out in the video above and remember to check out MrStainless001's Youtube Channel for more awesome videos.
How would you have fought this battle?
Great stuff – love the cinematic style of the battle.
One thing that always beats me in Warhammer Total War is an opposing army moving just out of range for me to catch them. I always plump for the additional campaign map movement speed but never seems enough.
I’m sure I will get it right one of these days!
Yes, i have the same problem, especial with chaos warrios and beastmen. Bloody fast buggers … But awesome to see the batte. Sometimes when you get reinforcements, you forget them, especially if its infantry and they are entering the battlefield far far away. (my dwarf reinforcement rarely sees battle unless its a siege 😉 )
Sometimes its down to skills, items and abilities.
The problem is that the enemy army mostly march so you can’t get to them to fight and if you march you have the range but can’t attack them. If you have two armies you can try to pin them but then you have to be sure that each army can take on the enemy.
You have to try and attack as close as possible to the location of the reinforcing army on the world map, mostly they will arrive from behind your main attack.
I hate it how the computer sometimes plots the course of your army. It wouldn’t be the first time that he sends my army the long way around through territory of a faction I don’t have an agreement with. @stainless001 didn’t you forget to attach your banner to a unit? In Battles I use my flying units to take down the artillery units first and then use them to attack archers if they are weak flyers or in the rear of the fighting if they are strong flyers. I just started playing with Bretonnia. I am still getting used to… Read more »
Yeah there can be a few reasons as to why it can do that, sometimes I can see that it will do it, this time though I got too excited 🙁
And yeah, still getting used to the banner mechanic, will get on that likely after next episode.
Oh damn, why did I not deploy the aerial cavalry against the mortar….
I was lucky in one respect with my war against Marienberg. I took Gorssel, and just as the AI was sending an army to relieve it, Karl Franz came in and took the port city, leaving the AI to suffer attrition from controlling no settlements. Of course, as I had an alliance with the Empire, this halted my expansion in that direction.
funny that a wee fault can nearly screw a battle. great vid.
Thanks! Yeah I was nearly done for.
Thank you! I so enjoy these videos. And learn so much.
