The Wolf-Kin Of Russ Begin Ravaging Foes With Forge World
January 27, 2017 by brennon
Joining Leman Russ on the battlefield the Wolf-kin Of Russ are now ravaging foes on the battlefield with Forge World, tearing apart Thousand Sons and other traitors with their huge claws and blood-soaked maws.
This is one of the parts of the Space Wolves that really appeals to me. Sure I like their own unique style but adding proper wolves into the mix just takes things to another level. Monstrous wolves then bump things up to eleven.
"Said to be companions of the Wolf King from his earliest days as a foundling upon the bleak desolation of Fenris, these two creatures are beasts of prodigious size, formidable intelligence and a physical power that beggars belief in purely ‘natural’ creatures of their type.
The guardians of the Wolf King’s hearth, from time to time when he calls they follow alongside him into battle as they may, ripping apart the hated foe limb from limb."
Inside the set you get two different wolves that work as a special HQ choice in your Space Wolves army. Rules for them will be in the upcoming Horus Heresy book, Inferno.
It's nice to see them slashing their way through Space Marines although it would also be neat to see them remove the traitors so that they could simply be in the middle of ripping through whatever enemy you may be facing.
Maybe you could even paint up these unfortunates in the colours of your regular opponents Legion?
What do you think?

Those are some great looking big wolves. Gotta love some wolves that are bigger than Space Marines.
Have to say these two are a bit of a let down. The mouths wide open make them look like they’re roaring and I never like when they have a marine being knocked over like that. Kharn (and maybe one of the Primarchs) has it too but, to my eye, they never achieve the feel of proper impact. It never looks dynamic.
Yup. They look like they were made by someone who has never seen a wolf. The top one is so awkward it’s comical. Looks like the wolf has a broken wrist, and that he’s tipping a statue with his good paw. He’s opening his jaws in a yawn, and in the wrong direction. Lazy, lazy sculpting.
Once again they have substituted sinewy musculature for ‘thick’.
These things are fricken huge, they’ve certainly come a long way from their original models back in the 90s. I love the detail on the wolves muzzles and their faces in general. If I was a Wolfie player I’d be all over it outrage on the internet.
they look brilliant.
I think the marines need to do a major product recall if some dugs can wreck the armour?
I seriously doubt that traitor space marines get to recall they over 10k old armor. There is no way warranty covers that long time.
Lol true true
The poses are stiff, and I could buy two real wolves for less.
