Games Workshop's Warhammer: The Horus Heresy got a little bit of a boost over the weekend and it got the crowd quite excited. Leading the way was the reveal of a brand new plastic kit for those seeking to add Knights to their Horus Heresy armies.

Leading the way for the reveals was the Cerastus Knight Lancer. Yes, to repeat, this is going to be a brand-new plastic kit that you'll be able to add to the mix. A great option for those looking to add to your Loyalist and Traitor armies on the tabletop. The knight comes with a shield, as you would have guessed, alongside the shock lance that is going to utterly destroy whatever it comes into contact with. You will also get yourself a pilot that sits in the midst of the knight that you can paint up and then hide forever.

Siege Of Cthonia Characters

As well as the BIG new plastic kit, there are also some new resin characters from Forge World. The Siege Of Cthonia is the next big black book for The Horus Heresy and features clashes between the Imperial Fists and the Sons Of Horus. The Traitors are able to call on Vheren Ashurhaddon who are looking to retake Cthonia for The Warmaster.

Vheren Ashurhaddon // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy

Known as the First Reaver, this fellow is a deadly and brutal fighter who has brought together an army of Space Marines, Titans and Dark Mechanicum warriors in order to retake his home world. Brutal and direct, just like the Sons Of Horus as a whole, he wields the Axe Serpentis with incredible skill.

On the other side of the conflict is the Loyalist Commander for the Imperial Fists - Lord Castellan, Evander Garrius.

Clad in Cataphractii armour and with a power gauntlet that was ripped from the hand of a Terran dictator, this fellow is not quite as measured and tactical as his fellow Imperial Fists. Evander Garrius is very much as direct and deadly as his Traitor foe and shows utterly no pity. His only focus is bringing down the fortresses of his enemies on top of them and standing atop the ruins.

New Space Marine Assault Squad

As well as the new character miniatures (which will be produced in Forge World resin), there is going to be a new plastic kit for the Assault Marines of The Horus Heresy. Get your jetpacks and chainswords at the ready.

This is a set that will be packed with all sorts of bits and pieces for getting your Assault Squad to the tabletop. I do like that they've not gone down the route of giving them flying stands. There is nothing worse than those little wobbly clear plastic stands on the tabletop, toppling over and snapping in your carry case.

These are going to be coming in the near future so watch this space and let us know if these are going to be popping up in your Loyalist and Traitor armies.

An Epic Teaser?

Listed as "Battle On A New Scale", another sneaky peek popped up at the end of The Horus Heresy preview. Could this be their little introduction to Epic?

This is very short and doesn't contain a lot of information BUT it does show off blocks of infantry and such moving around on the tabletop. I would guess that it matches up quite nicely to the idea of Epic and perhaps some 6/8mm wargaming. It makes sense to do this in The Horus Heresy as well as you just need to make Space Marines and their associated miniatures AND you already have Titans and such waiting in the wings.

Epic could be a lot of fun and it will be fascinating to see just what they do with the rules!
