Announcement Stirs Excitement For GW Studio Preview At Adepticon
March 6, 2017 by deltagamegirl22
If you weren't already over the moon about the GW Studio Preview sessions slotted for Adepticon, then you absolutely will be after the additional teaser from Warhammer Comunity...
"Now, we’ll grant you, ‘Studio Preview’ doesn’t give much away, and we can’t tell you too much here either (lest we ruin the surprise) but we can tell you it’s not just a bunch of pictures on a powerpoint slide. Because, sure, anything we show you will end up on the internet, and even right here on the Warhammer Community site, quicker than a Speed Freek can rev his engine (it’s unofficial Ork day here in the office).
If you go to the preview event, you’ll not only get to handle a host of new miniatures, (some of which won’t be out for almost a year) you’ll get to play some games with them. And not just any game, a brand new game. On top of that, we’ve even commissioned some special dice for attendees to keep as a momento. And, that’s not even all. You’ll also get to see some new game mechanics we’ve got in mind for existing games and give us your thoughts.
Now, obviously, there will also be a powerpoint presentation (and maybe a video or two) with loads of cool unreleased miniatures and great new art, but that’s just window dressing."
Wait. What?! New minis...a NEW GAME? And I thought I was excited before!
Registration is closed at this time, so I'm not sure if there are tickets available for these sessions - but if I were you, I'd be first in line for badge pick up and asking straight-away. You never know, you might just be a lucky one.
Who's excited to find out what's on the way from Games Workshop?

I’m not sure what game they’d have in “ready to play” status except for Titanicus. …which suits me fine, as I’m eager to get more details there, as well as see what they’ve got in mind for all of the titany goodness!
Titanicus is a safe bet, but who knows could be 40k 8th…. looks like gathering storm is going to be a trilogy, and the balance of power will have been shifted one hell of a lot by whats gone on so far…
Although pure wishlisting would be a new necromunda or mordheim
You heard it here first folks NEW NECROMUNDA at Adepticon …………. 😉 (sorry your wishlisting caused a flashback to a different forum 5 years ago…. where idle speculation grew to a full blown rumour, and then people were irrate with the company concerned because they didn’t do what they said they were going to … ahhh good times …. thanks for the memories 🙂 )
@nakchak …… No mate you were right , the rumours are true, you are now the divine oracle of this website…………… They will be demonstrating New Necromunda (under it’s new name) at Adepticon ……………..Sheesh …. How did you do it??
brand new, as in one of those gorechosen, gangs of commorragh, “games to sell older models at a discount” etc maybe?
Given that Gangs and Gorechosen are very fun and good games… I’d be quite pleased with it. I prefer their minigames as a fan of the setting with no desire to build entire huge armies.
In my book they can keep those small games coming.
But i suspect this is not the case here. Probably something ‘bigger’. Like Epic/Titanicus/…
So a more important system like Blood Bowl.
Come on Man-O-War we need you! Just joking, don’t kill me guys 😛
Nothing wrong with Man O War.
I loved Man-O-War …. I really did ….. sigh ….. if it ever comes back it will be way down the list ………………… 🙁
What I want to know is what on Earth that creepy masked face belongs too… I hve been seeign rumblings about some new dark aelf faction with deepones/c’thulhu falvour?!? sign me up!!
While I find it unlikely I hope its Battlefleet Gothic. I’ve been hoping for ages that it would make a return with new (and improved) models.
Oh god yes… BFG! 🙂
Well… in a way, it has. It’s called Dropfleet Commander now. 😉
Don’t care for its look. And to aimed at orbital warfare.
But yes for many it’ll be the spiritual successor given who was involved making it. 🙂
The game does still work in deep space. You just have to figure out your own scenarios.
For models you could choose any set you like. There are many options available out there.
There’s also Firestorm Armada, with gorgeous models, and more meaty rules.
This GW…I’m liking it. But the question remains, who is this new GW and what did it do to the old one? 😉
Hopefully it was shoved in the boot as the car was pushed off sea cliffs onto the rocks below
Adeptus Titanicus is a product of Forge World, and this news was referring to the GW design studio, so my bets would be on something else (or a few things) as it talks about some models which we won’t see for a year!
One thing is certain. Whatever it is, it will immediately make few hundred dollars worth of book obsolete.
‘books’
You weren’t far off the mark with ‘book’. Those things aren’t cheap 😉
titanicus would be great thanks.
Obviously GW could mess this up (although I don’t think they will), but it does make you wonder… Given how exciting this is (if you’re vaguely interested in GW games / miniatures / settings), what a crying shame it was that for years they refused to engage with the community.
They had this massive opportunity and continually refused to take it.
I’m not going to Adepticon (wrong continent!) but I’m envious of those who’re able to go. And really pleased to see GW doing something fun like this.
New game mechanics? now for GW thats exciting news
Doubt it’s AT
At the HH Weekender last month they still hadn’t decided of the minis were going to be plastic or resin
It obviously has Orkses in it.
‘cuz us Orkses are great and only a game with us innit is going to new shiny stuff.
I thinks we iz calling it Gorka Morka … or sumfin’
