Warhammer 40K’s Da Red Gobbo Is Back For Christmas 2024
October 28, 2024 by brennon
Games Workshop are celebrating Christmas with another awesome festive miniature this year. Da Red Gobbo is back with an explosive new miniature in the form of Da Red Gobbo's A-bomb-inable Snowman.
Da Red Gobbo's A-bomb-inable Snowman // Warhammer 40,000
Da Red Gobbo and the Gretchin Revolutionary Committee are getting ready for a bit of a snowball fight but one where those handfuls of snow and impacted ice make very, very big bangs. You're opponent can't hit you back with a snowball if their head has been blown clean off.

You'll note that the snowman that they have behind them also contains a surprise. A bomb has been "hidden" within the snow and they've made good use of a (removable) hat which means that only the most cunning of Orks will spot the payload within.
I can sense this being a rather fun miniature to add to your collection although I do sort of hope they do a version of Da Red Gobbo without the Christmas theme. It would be great to get him just for the sake of it and all those thematic Gretchin-bases lists you could do.
Are you going to be picking up this Christmas treat?

No.
Yeah, never really got this as an idea – if this was a Blood Bowl thing go for it – but I am not sure it fits 40k.
I know Warhammer 40k has always had a subversive sense of humour underpinning it which some people seem to forget with all the “grimdark” (a word I hate btw), but the Red Gobbo stuff just isn’t in keeping with that tone at all.
I really like seeing silly things for the Orks and Goblins but I never buy them
