Warhammer 40,000’s Ork Wurrboyz Can Turn You Into Squigs!
June 30, 2021 by brennon
Orks are soon going to be gracing the tabletops of the grimdark Sci-Fi future in Warhammer 40,000. With that in mind, Games Workshop has been putting together some sneak previews of upcoming miniatures. One such preview included the rather quirky Wurrboyz!

Wurrboyz are at one with the primal forces of Gork and Mork and channel their psychic abilities into helping their fellow Beast Snaggas hunt down their prey. Rather than being seen as ticking timebombs like other Weirdboyz, the Wurrboyz are prophets, oracles and hold a high station amongst the tribe.
One such power which might offer them a modicum of respect is the ability to turn their foes into Squigs!

I like abilities like this which look to not only be cool and effective but also throw in some fun fluff too. It seems suitably Orky too; turning a unit of proud and elegant Aeldari into a rampaging pack of Squigs who turn on their former allies.
They also have access to a powerful beam attack called Eyez Of Mork which seems suitably destructive. But, you'll have to check out the links above for more on that. Games Workshop also teased that we'll be getting a peek at some more transportation options for the Beast Snaggas soon too.
Are you liking the look of the new Beast Snagga Orks?

Looking good so far! And you can never go wrong with the ability to transform all your enemies into squigs for a laugh!
Yeah I quite like the idea of turning an opponent into a squig
Very nice.
Ooh a weirder weirdboy with a laser beam stare nice.
Wurrboyz, are they Geordies now?!?!
With a darker paintjob he would show more danger than goofiness.
damn … I was expecting having to replace enemy models with squigs.
So much potential for silly Orky things to happen and it is yet another spell that kills or wounds enemies at close range.
I mean … no sane general is going to let his troops be within 12″ when they can shoot him from 24″, right ?
Bit sad we only have the one view of this ‘Boy… like what’s exactly going on behind him with the tubes and wires and all? That could make or break the model for me!
I do like the new direction away from all Weirdboyz just being lunatic psychos who will eventually blow up their own heads.. lol
