Fatshark, the developers of the rather awesome Warhammer End Times: Vermintide, have announced their next big four-player cooperative video game set in the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000. Watch out for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide next year in 2021.

The game will have you fighting against hordes of enemies in the depths of the Hive City known as Tertium. A deadly corruption has seeped into the underbelly of this city and you will have to deal with the heretical cult known as Admonition but also their terrifying Chaos allies. As you can see in this screenshot, there are some seriously screwed up zombies working their way out of the darkness.

This will be a four-player cooperative experience where you'll be able to take on the role of Imperial Guardsmen and characters as big and brutal as an Ogryn (if the above art is anything to go by) as you battle against the forces of darkness.

If this is anything like Warhammer End Times: Vermintide then this is going to be a lot of fun. With the second game in their Vermintide series, the team at Fatshark did a great job at refining the elements that make these kinds of games fun. I can sense this being even more of a terrifying experience though as you're in tight-knit corridors and such in the depths of a Hive City, hunted by your foes.

I am very interested to see how this turns out and I will be keeping an eye out for some gameplay too!
