Games Workshop was full of reveals over the weekend and we got a look at what's new for Warhammer 40,000. War Zone Charadon is coming very soon and will feature the forces of Nurgle under the command of Typhus seeking to claim the Forge World of Metalica for his own means and that of Abaddon.

In The Book Of Rust, you'll find all manner of new scenarios and such in order to play out this assault on Metalica. Going up against the forces of the Death Guard you'll find the Adeptus Mechanicus who might find themselves fighting a losing battle against the overwhelming forces of Chaos.

In addition to new rules for the Death Guard and the Adeptus Mechanicus, you'll also find additional options within for the Imperial Knights who act as a bulwark against Chaos and the Drukhari who are seeking to exploit the turmoil within the sector.

Gone Crusadin'

If you're into your narrative and want to focus in on this War Zone as part of your Crusade games then the team at Games Workshop are also working away on a new Mission Pack called Plague Purge.

In this pack, you'll find loads of new options for playing out narrative-focused games which enable you to build up your armies and explore a new region of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. You'll find new relics to either destroy or arm yourselves with plus new abilities which can change how a unit works on the tabletop.

New Warhammer 40,000 Codexes

In addition to the two new options which help tell the unfolding story of Warhammer 40,000 we also have two new Codexes which you can pick up soon too. The first of these is for the raiding parties of the Drukhari who seek to make a credit or two from the chaos unfolding all around them.

Drukhari Codex - Warhammer 40K

Drukhari Codex // Warhammer 40,000

This will be the first of the Xenos Codexes for 2021 and will feature rules which make these already deadly close combat fighters even deadlier. This means more attacks, more damage output and plenty of ways for them to engage with their foes across the board, wherever they are.

As well as the cutthroats of the Drukhari you'll also be able to soon go on the hunt for The Fallen with a new Codex for the Dark Angels too.

Dark Angels Codex - Warhammer 40K

Dark Angels Codex // Warhammer 40,000

This marks a big return for the Dark Angels who will get themselves all manner of fascinating new Strategems and Relics which can be used to hunt down their fallen brethren. You'll also find options within for those building Ravenwing and Deathwing armies too so there is plenty for lore nerds.

In addition to that, they have also added plenty of thematic options for those playing Crusade. There is a new rule for hunting down The Fallen and interrogating them to gain special bonuses in your subsequent games.

If I were a Warhammer 40,000 player, I would be pretty happy with the way the releases are working out. As someone who loves their lore and narrative play, I could see the War Zone and Crusade books being the real draw for me, especially if I was playing with a small group of friends.

What do you make of these new options for Warhammer 40,000?
