@warzan surely you resurrect necrons, not revive them 😉
@johnlyons personally i would glue any clear plastic with PVA to prevent frosting from the glue.
It’s like carpet story time at primary school. Sitting all cross legged and worshipping before the Necron Altar. Be honest @warzan & @johnlyons, who helped who up once you realised you’d cut the blood supply off from your legs??? Joking aside, I really enjoyed this Vlog, I for one have way too much plastic that I need to get painted but am trapped in the perfectionist painters Oroborus circle of paint it, look at it, paint it some more, look at it again, notice something else and paint it again! Will it ever be right?!?! The FoW bootcamp was good… Read more »
Is it a good idea to airbrush less than a meter away from your fully painted army? John starting work on the Monolith with all the Necron infantry spread out on the table in front of him made me a bit nervous.
I know from airbrushing events that the vapours get everywhere, even if you don’t see them at first.
Looking forward to the Nids!! 🙂
BRING ON THE ‘NIDS!
Awesome stuff.
Having to paint my first 40K miniatures.
Think I’ve got a scheme sorted.
@Johnlyons Thanks for chatting at Tankfest John. (I see the T-shirt on show) – Always been a fan of your Tank chats and paint tips. I don’t have an airbrush, but still find value in the hints and tips.
Looking forward to the ‘nids.
It was great seeing you! I ran into more people I knew than I expected 😛
are you guys that busy your sleeping standing up in the office?
good work on the necrons going for green nids to add to the force you reasently finished @johnlyons
Great video. Even if to begin with I could only think ‘Necros? What about the Titan in the background?’ I want to see more of that!
Cracking vlog guys. Looking forward to seeing the ‘Nids vlog in the future.
I think you slightly miss quoted the 80/20 rule (as I recall it).
80% of the overall end product is typically done by 20% of the actual work.
Getting that model from 80% heavy metal to 100% heavy metal would therefor take 5 times as long!
Nice work, just how I like the Necrons. Minimalist metal and cold colours. I agree with the army painting philosophy to get everything looking neat and striking at gaming/camera distance, anything more takes so much longer for very little real world benefit.
Great to see Dave as part of the intro! Will we ever see him again on BoW? He has fans you know <3
+1 For Dave!!!!!
Great video, thanks guys. I’ve been going through exactly the same thing recently with the advent of 8th edition. Going back to some of my old Chaos Space Marines, Fabius Bile and Kharn amongst others. Keep up the great work.
Wait…who’s sleeping on the wall?
The necrons turned out awesome. Really great looking army. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with the nids.
Thanks for this, Gents. I tried getting into wargaming a while back, but I found the painting to be stressful. That’s due to me trying to make things perfect. I’ve decided to give it a go again (thanks to my tabletop Blood Bowl league) and watching the vid not only gave me great tips, but also reminded me that you can keep things simple and still get great results.
A bit late to the party on these vlogs but I really like what you are doing here.
Once John gets through the 40k are you going to move onto other games to revisit those as well?
