Traitor Guard Clash With Space Marines In 40K Kill Team Moroch!
May 23, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop are diving back into the skirmish wargaming of Kill Team with this weekend's upcoming pre-orders. Moroch is next on the cards where we see the Blooded Traitor Guard clashing with a unit of Phobos Space Marines.
Moroch Boxed Set // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

This new set focuses on the rise of forces of Chaos within this particular sector of the Imperium. The Militarum Traitoris have risen up and started making a general nuisance of themselves. The set for the Blooded/Militarum Traitoris features a number of miniatures alongside some returning favourites from Blackstone Fortress.
Blooded Traitor Guard - Militarum Traitoris // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
Traitor Guard has been one of the miniature ranges that folks have been crying out for for a long time. We got a little look at them as part of the aforementioned Blackstone Fortress but now we're starting to see them filter onto the larger battlefields of Warhammer 40,000 via Kill Team as a skirmishing aside.
Many of these miniatures are new but you also get the return of the Traitor Enforcer and Traitor Ogryn. I think this is a great looking set of miniatures for Chaos players to sink their teeth into. It also serves as a good primer ahead of the full Warhammer 40,000 release for Chaos in the coming weeks.
Fighting against the Militarum Traitoris, we have the Phobos Space Marines. If you're looking for specialist stealthy operatives clad in power armour then these fellows are for you.
Phobos Space Maries // Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
This set is made using elements of the Infiltrators and Incursors kits alongside an upgrade sprue. That additional sprue allows you to upgrade them to elite specialists, fitting for games of Kill Team. They certainly look animated and a lot more dynamic than your standard Primaris Space Marines.
As well as the new miniatures, you'll also find a few new pieces of Battlezone: Fronteris terrain that you can fight over. There are also special Kill Team rules for the Auspex Shrine, Landing Pad and Vox Antenna. Match that against the rulebook which explains the conflict and the fighting between these two Kill Teams and you should have a neat entry point to this skirmish wargame.
You will also be able to snag yourself some themed dice as well when the pre-orders fire up for this!

I've been hearing a lot of neat things about Kill Team over the last while. It might seem like there are a lot of different boxed sets and gubbins for you to get your head around, but the basis of gameplay seems pretty good.
Have you considered diving into Kill Team?

I’d skip the back banners – these guys literally live on spaceships. But that aside I really like the Naughty Guardsmen.
Its nice that those Traitor Guard sculpts are back after a hiatus.
Ah they’re not new? In that case like you I’m glad to see them live on. Would have been a shame had they gone the way of the Dodo
Ok took a better look at them and I am half correct.
The Traitor Guard do seem knew but done in the style of the traitor guard from Blackstone Fortress.
As for the Traitor Commissar and Ogryn tt looked like they had gone the way of the dodo: they were expansions for Blackstone Fortress
I like the banners BECAUSE they are silly. ALL 40K armies should have freehand or decal banners, even Tyranids.
No, ESPECIALLY Tyranids. Just BECAUSE.
Fabulous looking terrain an figures the radar station would be good for the WWII commando raid that they did.
Good to see those Traitors back.
Couldn’t agree more 🙂
Now… do we know if these are Infiltrators or Incursors in game? or rules for both? with 10 primaris models, and kill teams being 6 marines right now (right?) might the long term play be getting 2 more off a bitz site and then having 2 differnt (cough) Primaris Kill Teams?…
Or we not sure yet how they are going to run these in KT yet? Can’t imagine you are going to be allowed all 10 vs those poor, devoted, Traitor-Guard! lol
Not sure on how exactly they run BUT I would assume we’ll see a WarCom article this week
yeah, unless they feed those humies more than a bit extra there’s not way they can compete with all those marines.
The only reason I can think of is that they couldn’t cut down the spacemarine sprue to fit the kill team size …
Loving the the Traitor Guard.
Very interested to see how they will factor into the new chaos forces.
And how a few platoons would stack up against the equivalent Loyalist Guard.
That could make for an interesting game.
