Games Workshop announced that there is to be a bit of a change when the newest Chaos Space Marine Codex lands for Warhammer 40,000. Lucius The Eternal and the Noise Marines Slaanesh are going to be absent and instead getting their own Index.

The Chaos Space Marines are still going to be able to recruit Noise Marines for their force but the Index offers up a way to build a proper Emperor's Children army, themed after the forces of Slaanesh and their love of excess in all its forms.

Your Emperor's Children still come with the Dark Pacts army rules but you will need to pick the Slaanesh keyword to theme your force. Everything else is still available to you but you will have to put Lucius The Eternal in the spot of Warlord. He doesn't seem to care that much for his Legion at the moment in the lore but I suppose this could be his specific warband of choice.

The Index will be available for free on the Warhammer Community site allowing you to make good use of your Emperor's Children with some new 10th Edition rules. This means that we are probably going to be seeing a dedicated Codex for The Emperor's Children in the future although there's no timeline as to when that's going to be popping up.

Will you be trying to craft yourself a thematic Emperor's Children force with this Index?
