Tempestus Scions Clash With Genestealers In Kill Team Next Week
July 23, 2018 by brennon
Games Workshop is adding some new pre-made Kill Teams to their roster for this skirmish game set in the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000. This weekend sees pre-orders open for their Tempestus Scion and Genestealer Kill Teams.
The elite Tempestus Scions are dropping in with an array of special weapons for dealing with all kinds of threats. They have certainly come a long way from the regular Stormtroopers of the past. As with all of these sets you get a selection of terrain as well as the miniatures and a whole bundle of goodies too including scenarios and accessories.
The Genestealers feel like they are going to be one of those Kill Team choices which is very much a finesse force.
Since their focus is to get into combat as quickly as possible you're going to have to work out a way to use terrain to your advantage and sneak up on your enemy before you drag them off into the shadows.
Gaming Table In A Box
As well as the separate factions we're now seeing the Games Workshop crew has put together the Kill Team Sector Munitorum set which comes with a gaming board which is double-sided as well as the terrain that you need to pack it full of nooks and crannies.
I think this could be a good buy for someone who needs to get their hands on a simple space to play their Kill Team games. It saves you having to create an industrial tabletop and gives you an array of plastic terrain which should paint up quickly and be useful in larger games of Warhammer 40,000 too.
Have you been tempted by Kill Team?

More terrain? Nice.
I am pleased with the way GW seems to be supporting this game’s release. I can see myself playing at least as much Killtime as I do 40K.
Looking at this game I think whilst it’s great for the older players it seems absolutely perfect as an entry level game for younger 40k gamers.
Absolutely .. in fact a relatively low cost intro boxes like this is a brilliant way to bring in new players … it helps that it is fast to play as well.
Very Nice. I built some Scions for the Old Kill Team so it’d be nice to get them out again
This looks to be turning into a great Game with the variety of enemy’s, playing as a unit of guard or Marines assisting Authorities With unusual report’s fighting the insurgent’s or rouge gangs.
Yep. I got my pre-order in yesterday. Looking forward to building my first Skitarii. 😀
Yeah, as I’m not interest in skitaari or genestealer cult, I’m digging these themed war zones that will germs a game board without the other stuff.
Waiting for the death world one with that death world terrain released previously.
I´ve bought a Start Collectin Tempestus Militarum box last week for Kill Team… ^^
Some of the kill teams only have 5 figures and those in starter box are 10. Are the expansion boxes complete teams with tougher troops or do they need more miniatures to field a team?
Any why are the teams in starter box so crap? I have Skitarrii from Forgebane and they are rather boring to look at. Genestealer are just rubbish looking.
Same problem with every GW box set… at least one army is crap, Death Marines is why I avoid Dark Imperium… muties are just too ugly to field on the table.
I was watching a review video that said at least some of the starter boxes are not full teams.
As for the choice of factions or minis in the starters, its entirely subjective dude.
Yes Drop force Imperator only has 5 figures in the stater box
want more kill teams love this game .
Just recently purchased my kill team Drop Force Imperator and core manual can not wait to play
