Strike From The Shadows With A Raven Guard Sniper Squad
October 23, 2015 by brennon
Forge World go back to a more manageable scale with their latest release. This time they are looking at the Raven Guard Mor Deythan Strike Squad. These snipers will be making sure their targets are dead in the name of The Emperor...
"Having fought at their Primarch’s side from the days before the coming of the Emperor, the Mor Deythan are among the most loyal and experienced of veterans.
Through the endless procession of death they have overseen, the Mor Daythan have perfected hard won skills that surpass those of most Space Marines."
Now that is an awesome looking squad of snipers for use on the battlefields of Warhammer 40,000. You get five models in the squad with special Corvus Battleplate, sniper rifles, cloaks, bolt pistols and even a change of heads if you prefer them without the scoped helmets.
What do you think of this new set?

These models seem to be a step above the other HH models, but the price is completely bizarre.
More expensive than the terminators and nearly every other legion specific special squad? Is this to make the price of the rumoured HH plastics coming out this year seem cheap?
Not quite – still £10 cheaper than the Ultramarines Suzerain squad 🙂
But yeah doesn’t make sense when you see Death Guard and Emperors Children Terminator squads for less
Does seem expensive but like the miniatures, and hopefully they will get round to releasing Corax in the not too distant future.
Agree with Fleetey, is this going to be the start of new pricing for FW if the GW HH minatures are going to be released later this year?
Those look really good. Shame that one of them has foot on rock pose.
Just build t into the base.
Honestly, I get annoyed sometimes at minis designed to stand only on level ground.
They look very cool. I usually hate the guns in 40k, they just look kind of ‘duplo’ to me, chunky and silly. These look sleek and awesome. But goodness me, that price is extraordinary. You can get a Corvus Belli TAG and a couple of Heavy Infantry for that. Or a fair start on a decent Malifaux crew…
Crikey! I must have been away from 40k too long if those rifles are considered “sleek” 😀
For a moment I thought these chaps nicked em off the back of an Ork truck! 😛
Not bad space marine minis I guess, but they feel … dated…
Forge World cloak sculpts are just the worst, they look so shitty.
Minis are nice.
Price is just beyond, even more so considering the usual “will I get a crappy/broken part ?” Forge World quality gamble.
nice figures bad price.
thats rather depressing … how are they supposed to get out of this overpricing shit pit of theirs? the models themselves look very flat and boring imo
They hiked prices up recently. Primarchs and Characters got more expensive and now specialst tropps too. Because of 2 gramm more resin on a model ???
Like the paint job they got. Black primer for base coat, dry brush on black for highlight.
I’m loving the design change on the shoulder pads. I haven’t bought any FW for about a year because I have so much stockpiled to do but these may just get me to change my mind. My only concern is that I’m not a Raven guard player so will sculpt out most of the stuff that makes these so much more expensive than normal. I would love it if they could do some more generic stuff.
Just noticed the old school veteran stripe on the helm, now that’s a nice nod to the rogue trader days! All of my marines carry the original RT markings, the veteran Sgt stripes are definitely the hardest to paint….. So if you’re listening FW, original RT rank marking transfers would be good……please?!?!
