New Stormcloud Attack Pre-Orders & Blood Angels For Warhammer 40,000
June 25, 2016 by brennon
The skies are buzzing with the sound of attack formations coming together and blasting each other out of the skies with Stormcloud Attack which is the new mini-game/bundle deal you can get from Games Workshop for Warhammer 40,000. There are three to choose from with...
Faith & Heresy
The Eldritch & The Beast
The Ancient & The Greater Good
...being your choices. Each of these are a boxed game which works as a stand-alone product for two players and has you dogfighting as each of these different craft. Within the actual box you'll get the models and...
"...an eighty-page softback flight manual detailing the awesome rules for stunning dogfighting manoeuvres, with a massive selection of missions - duels, dogfights, and even campaigns!"
You can also download the Pilot Record Sheet which allows you to keep track of what missions your pilot has flown. You can also mix in other flyers from the Warhammer 40,000 universe and set up bigger duels too.
Start Collecting Blood Angels
Back on Terra Firma we also have the addition of a new Start Collecting force for your Space Marines. This is the Blood Angels box.
Inside here you're getting a Terminator Armoured Captain, a Tactical Squad numbering ten men and a Baal Predator for all that death you want to blast onto the tabletop. They really are awesome looking tanks.
So, with dogfighting and Blood Angels on the cards has anything taken your fancy this weekend?

more intrigued by the limited edition FW mini you can buy in store this weekend, fw in a gw store??? Hopefully this is a sign that some FW will make it to the highstreet…
the ba box aint bad, guessing its the usual £50 box, the flyer game less so, the only one of those SKU’s i would consider is the ork/eldar one just because i dont hate on sight the flyers in it…

Finally BA have they own Start Collecting boxed set.
Can the Baal predator be turned into a Rhino?
@calagors yup, just magnetize the turret mount and sponsons, its a full rhino kit with an extra sprue (same as all rhino varients)
Well that makes it the best one of these bundles I have seen then.
Always tempted to throw together a Death Company. Might grab that BA box as a starting point.
Flyers game look like a reasonable discount as well. Perfect for going halves with your mate.
I’m not sure this will do so well as the other games. You need to want both flyers – so therefore you happen to collect both factions (or you do between you and a mate). I’d like the heldrake, but don’t need the space marine ship. And the saving is only $10 anyway …
Are the stormcloud boxes supposed to be value for money?
I don’t know @hatamoto . Is £60 less than the cost of the two flyers?
No i meant actual value for money, not GW perceived value 😛 according to the latter its apparently pretty good value
If I hadn’t spent all my play money on MKIII Circle models, the Blood Angels set would be veeery tempting.
There’s just something about the Blood Angels that makes me want to collect them, and that’s coming from a Tau player. >.>
That “something” would be the assault phase 🙂
lol! I think you’re spot on there
That’s a nice Blood Angels kit. Don’t forget, Blood Angels tac marines use heavy flamers as assault weapons so be sure to load up!
Cool, does it come walkie talkies so you can communicate with your opponent whilst traversing the playspace required of a dogfighting game in blummin 32mm!!
in the 40k universe these things fly as fast as people can walk.
So no need for big tables … unless you want to spend a few days flying before you can take a shot 😉
Seriously :

no mention of speed
the only hint we’ve got is ‘maximum power’ at 5, which reads like 5 inch movement at top speed.
Best action is ‘move – move’ … so that’s 10 inch maximum.
Unless the rules state otherwise it’ll take six turns just to reach the edge of the table in these high speed flyers. lol
I now have an image of elderly combatants circling each other warily and slowly on heavily armed zimmer frames 😉
I noticed a local webshop selling the SA boxes at 68 Euro instead of the official 80 Euro in the GW webshop.
Pretty standard GW give all 3rd party retailers a 10% discount off list price, which if you adjust against the hit the value of pound took probably works out at about €12. In short unless its a shop exclusive buy from a thrid party if you can and it will be about 10% cheaper…
I played Blood Angels when I played 40k ( up until about 2 versions of the rules ago), but the minis are nice. Not enough to pull me back into the GW Money Suck, but still nice models
