The Starstriders & Infected Return To Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
August 23, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop has announced that two Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team squads are going to be returning as part of the new Kill Team: Annual 2022 that is landing in the near future. The Elucidian Starstriders and Gellerpox Infected will be hitting the tabletop again.

The Elucidian Starstriders are one of the coolest-looking Kill Teams that Games Workshop has created! A Rogue Trader captain and their Voidsman crew are going to be battling their way through Space Hulks and more in the newest "season" of the game. I love the fellow with the massive rotor cannon and that lovable doggo who is going to be the bestest boy.
On the other side of things, we have the Gellerpox Infected that are going to be shambling and swarming around spaceships looking to absorb those unfortunate enough to wander into their path.

These followers of Nurgle are one of the toughest Kill Teams out there and you're guaranteed to be able to charge into combat with one of those massively mutated hulks. I imagine a lot of people are going to be picking these up to use in their Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Daemon armies too.
Kill Team: Annual 2022
Both of these Kill Teams are going to be getting new plastic boxed sets and all of their updated rules are going to be found within the new Annual.

You'll also find additional rules for the Phobos Strike Team and the Blooded that were available as part of the last Kill Team box and updated rules for a selection of different fighters from across the spectrum. So, you might want to pick this up to get the best out of your Kill Team of choice.
Namely, the Hunter Clade, Warpcoven, Wyrmblade, and Void-dancers are also going to be included in this book (White Dwarf releases).
Are you going to be picking up the Starstriders or the Infected?

Why couldn’t you include them in the initial release of the Killteam Armylist/Compendium release at the start of this version GW? Afraid we might see teams with more special abilities than the rest of them ? This drip feeding of factions is what killed my interest in the new version practically from day 1. I’d be tempted to compare the Infected to the Plague team for Mantic’s Deadzone. And I suspect the latter may be better by default. The Starstriders might make for a fun team in Stargrave. Yup … two competing systems that aren’t GW’s Killteam 😀 That’s kind… Read more »
The starstriders would be great as a inquisitors retinue in games.
I think I want to use the Gellerpox Infected for Nurgle Cultists or Mutants from the Chaos Space Marines Codex. I’m not sure if they would fit in the Chaos Daemon Codex, but the box might contain rules for their use in 40K as other Kill Team releases have.
Between the Gellerpox Infected and the Traitor Guard (ie the Blooded), Kill Team is providing quite an addition to potential 40K Chaos forces, even if the latter box comes via Blackstone Fortress to some extent.
Whoever is running GW is like a 6 year old chasing a shiny coin rolling down the street distracted by a puppy and oh what’s that in the shop window? Candy!
Why bother finishing anything at all when they can pump out a bit at a time?
No thanks.
Kill Team Annual? As in, yet ANOTHER book for Kill Team that includes MORE rules that should have been included from the get-go?
Forget it, Gee Dubs. Not when I can get all the rules off Wahapedia for free without paying a premium for glossies.
