Special Legion Primus Medicae Available Soon From Forge World
December 24, 2016 by brennon
Games Workshop will be making this special Legion Primus Medicae available soon from Forge World for those of you looking for another miniature to add to the collection...
This fellow would be the fellow looking after you on the battlefield but he's now clad in Cataphractii Terminator Armour and ready to defend himself if the need arises. I'm not a massive fan of the model, but I think it might just be the strange smock he has around his lower torso and upper legs.
Something about the model feels a bit 'static' to me. Either way, if you like him he will be available from the 27th December.
What do you think?

I really like this model (It is a 100% improvement over the FW Ultramarine standard bearer that they did last time)
Open to conversions plague marine screams out to me or maybe something to do with old Fabius himself. I don’t think its the model, but the colour that’s wrong, not enough gore on the green smock, which would perhaps be wrong as blood on greens comes out black unless completely soaked through.
Do you think he’s wearing chainmail under-roos under that smock?
I’m getting hot flushes just thinking about it.. 🙂
*wishes he had chain mail underwear*
*realises that it would pinch, and with eyes watering re-evalutes his wishes*
I suppose the apron/smock thing is meant to signify that he’s a medic/doctor, but it doesn’t make sense. The apron is meant to help keep the doctor’s clothes clean from all the blood, but why would the armor need that protection. It’s just visually confusing.
Remember this is a setting where techs doing routine maintenance recite the instruction manual verbally as they do the maintenance because it’s become ritualised. Same thing probably applies here – they know surgeons wear smocks, but not why they do, so wear it as part of their uniform because that’s just the done thing. 😉
Gonna pick one up I think, have a plan to kitbash a sanguinary priest out of it…
What is a legion primus? Is it dark angels or something different?
Something about the model appeals to me, but I would want to place in context before decd By to buy it.
All 30k Legions I believe. In 40k terms it’d be a captain I believe, but because captains can’t be apothecaries you’d have to use it as either a regular captain or a regular apothecary.
@jamesedwards I think it is supposed to be a Legion “Primus Medicae”, probably the most senior Apothecary in the Legion of you choice. I would place him in the Deathwing ranks, were I to purchase him.
That looks rather weird for FW model. Something about that does not look right to me.
