Space Hulk FPS Deathwing Gets New Trailer Full Of Combat
February 16, 2015 by brennon
Space Hulk Deathwing still hasn't got a definitive release date yet but that hasn't stopped them from showing off another trailer full of some very pretty looking graphics and plenty of combat. I'm kind of looking forward to this one even though the actual trailer doesn't really feel very Warhammer 40,000...
...maybe metal music would have been more appropriate? I guess they were going for the whole dance of death style thing between the Genestealers and the Terminators as well as the last stand motif with the old Western sounding track; but I don't think it really did much to inspire when it comes to waiting for the game.
Away from that however the idea of playing a co-operative first person shooter against waves of Genestealers and more, much like Left 4 Dead did with its zombies, is very appealing. Count me in for this and Vermintide when they launch later this year.
What did you think of the trailer?

AWESOME stuff !!, I know what you mean about the music but I rather quite like it , makes a nice change to the over played metal we usually get.
Time for a Sergio Leone film I think 😉
I love it! Can’t wait to see the actual gameplay. I really dig the music too. Something about Mexican terminators seems badass. 🙂
The cinematic is certainly entertaining… not quite Blur Studios but very good (immediately made me wonder what happend to that Inquisitor fan film). I’ll hold off judging it until I see gameplay. I’m pretty picky about FPS gameplay though and I’m hoping it doesn’t feel rigid like a lot of other smaller name FPS you see floating around.
What were they thinking with that music! Really distracted me from the visuals, something more atmospheric would have been nice!
I think that music was perfect, totally desperados style and you have to be desperado to explore space hulk
With that music it could have been “Space Hulk: Episode 1 – A Telltale Series” 😉
…although that does sound like something I´d love to play!
I like the trailer. Will check this game out.
Imagine a Telltale game where you played as Inquisitors trying to fathom a mystery. That would be pretty awesome I reckon!
BoW Ben
The Inquisition demands that such a divinely inspired idea must come to fruition.!
If you are reading this thread GW and Telltale, please reach out to each other and make it happen. But with some more “conventional” action scenes that does not simply involve “Press X”.
Great trailer in terms of visuals, but I’d of swapped out the music for some dark industrial track like this :

These guys would be perfect for a realm of chaos inspired sountrack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SquLFxcBhA
Oh yes! yelworC are great, loved Trinity especially. Still waiting for the 3rd album in the trilogy.
My Dark Angels need sombreros.
Thought the music was just fine: it went to almost dirge-like to full on action flamenco, just like the video. And, really, the SM’s act that way, too. Kinda tired of euro-techno pop.
I like the music and it looks great
The music was unexpected and actually spot on. It really made the trailer, and a complete change from the norm.
I thought the trailer and music were very good. I think that when I first started watching it I was a little surprised and thought “What the F?” but I think that is part of the charm. It is very different than what I expected. Not sure I’ll buy it but looks great.
I like the trailer, but love the music choice. Very mexican standoff ish.
Metal music, and 40K has been done to death amd is SO boring.
Now let’s imagine a 40k movie made by Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez… Hell…why not?!
Tarantino fail. You know how bad movies become bad movies? This is how.
Look, 40K will always be “cool” to nerds. But it will never be “hip,” and it ought not try. This clash of milieu tastes worse than a Nutella-and-jelly sandwich, that I now cannot unsee, just as I cannot untaste said disgusting PB-and-J “alternative.”
(I hope Kadebostany sues for copyright infringement.)
I really doubt that a company like GW would risk copyright infringement.
That didn’t look too bad. I would had love to see them make this with similar gameplay as original Space Hulk video game and Vengeance of Blood Angels rather than making it into FPS game just because those happen to be popular these days.
the bad, the ugly, and the armour-plated looks good.
Seriously, like wow
I really dislike game trailers that have nothing to do with how a game looks or plays. They’re like broken pencils – basically pointless.
That could well have been an in engine scripted demo with some bullet time thrown in. Wouldnt expect less from a games visuals these days tbh
Loved the trailer, loved the music. Now off to track more of their music down. 😀
I am actually quite looking forward to this one!
Well it’s different – last time I saw a sword that 2D looking was pre the original space hulk on a 3DO. Think I might skip this one. Really makes me wonder what the criteria GW applies when granting the license
Hmm – two questions – why the music? It really seems out of place in that trailer. And what is it with the tyranids massive, oversize tongues? Surely, in evolutionary terms, they would have shrunk to a size that at least fits in the mouth?
Other than that, looks pretty darn good – as long as you don;t think of it as a gameplay trailer.
I enjoyed the music but the game is being made by a no-name studio with little track record of making decent games so not sure how well this one will turn out.
