Space Hulk: Deathwing Images Show Off Impressive Environments
January 25, 2016 by brennon
The Space Hulk: Deathwing video game is still in development but should be out sometime this year in 2016. In the mean time the development team have shown off some of the environments that you can expect to be fighting the Tyranids in when you don your Tactical Dreadnought Armour...
First off we have this impressive mausoleum which you can see above. It features massive tombs for the Tyranids to duck and weave through (and climb over). I wouldn't want to be down there on the tiles when the swam comes in from all those nooks and crannies.
Of course this also gives your Terminators a good vantage point to strike from. As the horde swarms below you you can raise your storm bolters and spew death down upon them as they are forced into the open.
...and as I mentioned above. Don't get caught out in the open.
While I would like to think that the Terminators here could hold their own I don't imagine it would be long before one of those 'nids got behind them and started opening their power armour with rendering claws and talons.
Not all of the environments will be as Gothic however.
Here you can see a large open room, probably within the bowels of a ship or large manufactorum facility if the icon in the top left is anything to go by. Once again plenty of line of sight but also many avenues of approach for the Tyranids. This screenshot we've seen before but it certainly gives you a feel for what it would be like inside the armour.
Hopefully the squad based combat will work out nicely and you'll have plenty of reason to be working together instead of trying to be Johnitus Ramboinus. Here's also hoping that the AI is sensible if you are going to be tackling this in single player.
It wouldn't hurt to have couch co-op with a splitscreen for two players at the least.

been watching this for a while, just hoping the gameplay lives up to the graphics so far…
I so hope the gameplay lives up to the visuals……..I really do like the look of this
As many people have already noted, it looks stellar! Just hope the game can live up to the luscious eyeball massaging 40k nirvana that those screenshots portray! 😀
hopefully the game will be as impressive as the screen shots are would be nice to go a nid hunting again.
In that last screenshot it shows the right arm as “no signal”, yet you can clearly see it holding up the gun. Looks like a decent game though, interested in what those body read out stats do once they read zero.
where can I buy a cool armor like that ^^
Dear computer gaming gods; please make this good. And remember, after the abomination commonly known as Alien: Colonial Marines, you owe me… 😉
