The Slithering Scyllax Are New Additions To The Adeptus Mechanicum!
March 21, 2015 by brennon
The Adeptus Mechanicus are coming to Warhammer 40,000 and in the mean time we have some additional creations coming from Forge World in the form of the Scyllax Guardian-Automata to support your other constructs in battle...
More on the Scyllax...
"Deployed onto the battlefield as elite shock troops or the bodyguards of their magos overseers, Mechanicum Scyllax Guardian-automata have been adapted with a wide variety of mechadendrites and servo-arms for dissecting living matter with murderous speed. With an armoured carapace as durable as Legiones Astartes battle plate and powered by a rad furnace which can vent debilitating radiation at will, the Scyllax Guardian-automata are a force to be truly feared on the battlefield."
...so pretty freaky. In fact, very freaky. If this is the kind of dark and twisted creations we can expect from Forge World then imagine what the regular Adeptus Mechanicus are going to look like when they come out from Games Workshop!
You can see one of the Scyllax here in comparison to a normal marine and they are rather huge individuals. I love to thing of something as harmless looking as a servo-skull being turned into one of these things to start where they rip and tear through enemies with ferocious speed. It has so many blades and zappers!
Are these going to make it into your army?

Those really give me Necron vibe. They do remind me about those old Necron Wraiths but as smaller.
Agreed. I love the look of the Cylon… er… Necron stuff 🙂 .
They look great but would hate to transport them due to the small thin parts.
GW must be a fan of the Matrix….Now come out with a Mr. Smith and were set to go…
I really like these, this is the kind of weirdness I like about the Mechanicum. The walkers and stuff are all cool and all but it’s the trailing cables, robes and weird bionic stuff that really appeals to me. I hope the 40k Mechanicum coming will be more like this personally.
I love these. They have that macabre weirdness that John Blanche’s Mechanicum designs have always had, but which has been sadly lacking from some of FW’s ‘robots’.
Yeah I always loved the Blanche designs, would love to see more of that translate into model form.
I, too, saw these and immediately thought ‘Necron’ and then I remembered where the C’tan, the Dragon, is sleeping….
It’s almost as if the storyline is advancing. 😉
Already got a set… 😉
remind me of the Matrix octobot things.
Now that is the kind of full on Mechanicus weirdness I think many of us have been waiting on.
No matter if they look like anything else. They are awesome. I’m almost tempted to start another 40K army.
